Horseback riding in the Sele Valley in the province of Salerno

A green oasis in the heart of Campania: get ready to discover the Sele Valley, on horseback!

We await you in Contursi Terme for a one-hour ride along the Sele river, through woods and countryside that will enchant you with their tranquillity.

Explore this territory in the company of an equestrian guide and experience an adventure unlike any other!

What we will do

We will meet at the meeting point in Contursi Terme (SA), 15 minutes before the indicated time.

After getting to know the guide and our sweet horses, we will begin with a short introductory lesson of 10-15 minutes to familiarise ourselves with the animals and basic commands.

We will then go out for a ride, preceded by the guide on horseback, and venture along a loop route totally immersed in the Sele Valley, a corner of Campania that offers truly bucolic landscapes, including fertile plains, lush forests and green hills.

Riding along, we will skirt the surrounding countryside and the Sele river, which we can also ford in fine weather to enjoy a bit of extra adventure and coolness.

The ride will be all at a leisurely pace and will include stretches of dirt, asphalt and country roads with slight differences in altitude. The ride will take between 55 and 45 minutes to complete (depending on the season), at the end of which we will return to the facility.

The activity will last approximately one hour in total.

Who it is aimed at

The activity is suitable for 14-year-olds and up. Minors may do the activity alone in the company of the guide, presenting a release form signed by the parent.

Ridingexperience is not required.

The maximum weight for participants is 100 kg.

Other information

The activity takes place all year round.

The duration of the walk may vary depending on the season: 45 minutes from November to March and 55 minutes from April to October, due to slight variations in the route. From November to March we walk along the Sele river, while from April to October we can also ford it, hydrometric conditions permitting.

American-style riding is used for the walk.

Any accompanying persons may remain at the riding stables during the activity; dogs on a leash are permitted.

The meeting point cannot be reached by public transport. Free parking is available on site.

For those who wish to do so, it is possible to book a (optional) farmhouse lunch, with a menu that varies according to the season: starters with cold meats, cheeses and seasonal side dishes, two first courses, main course with side dish, fruit, dessert, including soft drinks, at a cost of €35 per person.
