If you love horses and nature, we have the right activity for you!
Join us for a one-hour horseback ride in the province of Rieti. Together with an experienced guide, you will ride on dirt roads in the Leonessa area through woods, fields, and ancient villages that tell the stories of pilgrims and travellers.
You will enjoy the panorama of Terminillo and the Nature Reserve of the Lungo and Ripasottile Lakes, as well as the company of an extraordinary animal, the horse.
Get ready to climb into the saddle!
What we will do
We will meet at the riding school in Leonessa (RI), at the time selected when booking. We'll start immediately with a 10-minute briefing in which the guide will explain the basics of mounting, driving and stopping the horse, and we'll do some trial rides to get familiar with him.
We will then set off for the ride, following a route that the guide will have customised based on our experience. If we are still beginners, we will follow a simple route on dirt roads with only a few asphalt crossings, where we can enjoy the views of the countryside and the forest.
If we are considered more experienced, we can opt for more challenging routes that offer a variety of landscapes, including passages through characteristic villages such as Leonessa and Micigliano, which retain the charm of tradition and history.
During the walk, we will have the opportunity to admire the iconic panorama of Terminillo, which at 2217 metres high is called the 'Mount of Roses' because of its shape and colour. We will also be able to catch a glimpse of Lago Lungo and Lago Ripasottile, two bodies of water that are home to a rich biodiversity and are part of a nature reserve.
After about an hour's walk, we will return to the stables, where we will say goodbye to our horse and guide for giving us an unforgettable experience.

If you have made a fixed date reservation and the weather conditions are not suitable for the safe conduct of the activity (in the expert opinion of the guide), you will be refunded the full amount paid. The guide may suggest an alternative date or time for you to conduct the activity. You can freely choose whether or not to accept these proposals. If you can’t retrieve it, we will process a full refund! If you have set the date for your Gift Voucher and bad weather did not allow the activity to take place, the Voucher remains regularly valid until the expiration date indicated on it.
