There’s no better setting for a horse ride than Abruzzo’s ‘green lung’: the Maiella National Park!
Enjoy a one-hour ride through this stunning natural setting at the foot of Monte Morrone, near the town of Pratola Peligna. A liberating experience in the countryside, discovering horse riding and the local area in the company of an equestrian guide.
What we will do
We’ll meet 15 minutes before the selected time at the meeting point in Pratola Peligna (AQ). We’ll be welcomed at the riding school by the riding instructor who’ll be accompanying us on this equestrian adventure!
Once all participants have gathered, we’ll meet our ‘adventure companions’ – the horses. We’ll then mount up and be taught the basics of horse riding. We’ll then have the chance to get to grips with things by taking a trial ride around the training ground.
That’s when our horse ride will begin: we’ll set off along a mainly flat trail that takes us alongside the River Sagittario (which flows all the way to Tuscany! ), before heading into the woods of the Maiella National Park. Along the route at the foot of Mount Morrone, we’ll also catch a glimpse of Orsa Castle.
Finally, we’ll return to the meeting point. The horse ride will last approximately 1 hour.
Who it is aimed at
The experience is suitable from 8 years of age. Children from 14 years of age will ride independently, while children from 8 to 13 years of age will be led on the ground by a dedicated guide via a harness. Children under the age of 18 must be accompanied to the riding school by an adult to sign a release form.
A maximum weight of 100 kg is required to participate in the activity.
This experience is of an easy level and suitable for first-time horse riders.
Other information
The experience takes place all year round and is confirmed when a minimum number of 2 participants is reached.
There is free parking on site. The meeting point cannot be reached by public transport.
Any accompanying persons can wait in the riding hall where a clubhouse with meeting point is set up; dogs on a leash are permitted in the riding hall.

If you have made a fixed date reservation and the weather conditions are not suitable for carrying out the activity safely (according to the expert opinion of the guide), you will be refunded the full amount paid. The guide may suggest an alternative date or time for the activity. You are free to choose whether or not to accept these suggestions. If you are unable to reschedule, we will proceed with a full refund! If you have set the date of your Gift Voucher and bad weather has prevented the activity from taking place, the Voucher remains valid until the expiry date indicated on it.
If I cancel the reservation, can I get a full refund?
