Have you ever dreamed of riding through the shadows of an enchanted forest, following the traces of an ancient, now forgotten trade?
The Sentiero delle Carbonaie, in Abruzzo, welcomes you for a unique equestrian experience, where history and nature intertwine. Don't worry if you have never ridden before, because this 1-hour horseback ride is also suitable for beginners.
Get ready to immerse yourself in the memory of the forest, we are waiting for you in the saddle!
What we will do
We will meet at the time chosen at the time of booking in Ceppo, a hamlet of Rocca Santa Maria.
As your guide, I will be there to welcome you and introduce you to your companion. Before setting off, we'll have a short briefing where I'll teach you the basics of riding: how to get on the saddle, the main commands and how to communicate with your horse. As soon as you feel comfortable, we will begin our ride.
We will leave the riding stables on horseback and tackle a 3 km trail at the pass through the Ceppo beech forest, a beautiful and silent wood where we will immerse ourselves in the silence of nature. I will tell you the history of these places linked to theancient tradition of the charcoal kilns: places where in the past stacks of wood were created to be burned for the production of charcoal.
During the ride, we will not make any stops, but will focus on feeling part of the forest and getting in tune with our horses. The loop route will then take us back to the starting point.
The duration of the activity will be 1 hour.
Who it is aimed at
The walk is suitable for everyone from the age of 14. Minors must be accompanied by an adult.
No horse ridingexperience is required.
The maximum weight for participants is 150 kg.

The activity takes place from June to September and is confirmed with a minimum number of 2 participants.
Trekking saddles and American saddles are available.

If you have made a fixed date reservation and the weather conditions are not suitable for carrying out the activity safely (according to the expert opinion of the guide), you will be refunded the full amount paid. The guide may suggest an alternative date or time for the activity. You are free to choose whether or not to accept these suggestions. If you are unable to reschedule, we will proceed with a full refund! If you have set the date of your Gift Voucher and bad weather has prevented the activity from taking place, the Voucher remains valid until the expiry date indicated on it.
