Discover this and many other curiosities by taking part in our horseback ride in Cerveteri: in the company of a zootechnical equestrian guide, you will ride in the splendid setting of the Tolfa Mountains. Step by step, you will deepen your knowledge of this surprising territory and the animal world.

A 3-hour experience, with the spectacle of dawn in the background!

What we will do

The appointment is 15 minutes before the selected time at the meeting point in Cerveteri (RM). Awaiting us will be the zootechnical equestrian guide who will accompany us on this adventure!

Having gathered all the participants, we will proceed with assigning the horse and mounting it in the saddle. The guide will not fail to illustrate the basics of horse riding and provide all useful information for a carefree experience. This first moment will last approximately 10 minutes.

And here we are ready for our horseback ride: starting from Pian della Carlotta, we will venture into the splendid natural setting of the Tolfa Mountains, passing through the Bosco del Grottone and Campo Troscione. Along the way we will enjoy a unique panoramic view: on one side Santa Severa, Santa Marinella and Civitavecchia, on the other Cerveteri, Rome and the Castelli Romani area!

We will finally approach the summit of Monte Santansino, stopping at an altitude of 500 metres for breakfast: this can be sweet or savoury and consist of bread, cheese, wild fruit jam and coffee. All in front of the spectacle of the sunrise, which marks the dawn of a new day.

The excursion will also be enriched with anecdotes and curiosities about the territory and the animal world: from the archaeological importance to the biodiversity of Tolfa, from the Tolfetan breed at risk of extinction to other animal species that might happen to be encountered along the way. An exchange to get to know the past and present of the territory and appreciate it even more!

We will finally return to the meeting point. The experience will last a total of 3 hours.

Who it is aimed at

The experience is suitable from 14 years of age. Children under the age of 18 must be accompanied to the riding school by an adult.

A maximum weight of 90 kg is required to participate.

The experience is of an easy level and suitable as a first horse ride.

Attention! The meeting point is about 16 km from the centre of Cerveteri.

The experience takes place from April to October.

The timetable may vary depending on the sunrise.

Horses are equipped with saddlebags for storing personal items.

The use of mobile phones is not permitted during the horse ride. The guide will take amateur souvenir photos of participants.

Free parking is available on site. The meeting point can be reached by public transport.
