Horseback riding in the Vesuvius National Park with aperitif

Have you ever walked over ancient craters... on horseback? Get ready for a riding adventure in the Vesuvius National Park that will take you to explore the Monte Somma complex.

In the company of an equestrian instructor, you will ride at pace through the park's paths and admire the volcanic cones that characterise this area, ancient lava vents dating back more than 25,000 years.

The ride will last 1 hour and will be followed by an aperitif with typical Campanian products: what more do you want to make this an 'explosive' experience?

What we will do

The appointment is in Pollena Trocchia (NA), 10 minutes before the time chosen at the time of booking.

We will be met by theinstructor, who will accompany us in his car to the stables, about ten minutes away. Once we arrive at the facility, we will find our horses ready and saddled and we will have a short introductory lesson in the field to familiarise ourselves with the animals and the main controls.

We will then leave the stables and set off at the pass through the trails of Vesuvius National Park, in the Monte Somma complex, the ancient volcano that was active up to 25,000 years ago. We will admire the volcanic cones, i.e. the remains of craters that are now extinct, and climb up to a height of 400 m, with a difference in altitude of around 100 m.

After immersing ourselves in this extraordinary landscape by riding for 4 km, we will return to the riding stables. Here we can assist the instructor by helping him take the horses back to the stable or by feeding them some well-deserved prize carrots.

Afterwards, we will sit down at the stables to enjoy an aperitif with typical Campania products such as bruschetta with Piennolo cherry tomatoes, olives and buffalo mozzarella, accompanied by local wine or soft drinks.

At the end of the aperitif, the instructor will drive us back to the meeting point. The experience will last about 3 hours in total, of which 1 hour of actual walking time.

Who it is aimed at

The walk is suitable for everyone from the age of 9. Minors must be accompanied by an adult during the experience.

In the case of underage participants, a maximum of 1 child between the ages of 9 and 16 is allowed for safety reasons. If there are underage participants in the group, please inform the instructor after booking confirmation.

Horse ridingexperience is not required and the maximum permitted weight is 100 kg.

The experience takes place all year round, Tuesday to Sunday, and is confirmed with a minimum number of 2 people.

The mount used for the walk is the American mount .

The meeting place can be reached by train from Naples with the Circumvesuviana. Here you will be met by a guide who will accompany you to the riding school in his or her own car.

Any accompanying persons may remain at the riding stables during the activity; dogs on a leash are permitted.
