Full description
Ride along ancient sheep tracks at the foot of the Maiella mountain range in Abruzzo and recharge your batteries in contact with its unspoilt scenery.
After a short lesson in the field to familiarise yourself with the animals, this 1.5-hour horseback ride will take you out of the stables, towards the medieval village of Fallascoso.
Is this your first time in the saddle? Don't worry! The equestrian guide will be by your side throughout the walk and will make you fall in love with this discipline!
What we will do
The appointment is at our riding school in Torricella Peligna, in the province of Chieti, at the time chosen for the ride. I will be your guide in this equestrian adventure at the foot of the Maiella and I will share with you all my love for horses, a true family passion.
We'll start with a lesson in the field lasting about half an hour: if this is your first experience, we'll see together how to approach the horse, get in tune with him, stay in the saddle and give the main commands.
Then we'll be ready to leave the stables for our horseback ride. We will ride with the Maiella in the background, passing along ancient and evocative sheep-tracks immersed in nature, in the shadow of the second highest mountain massif in the Apennines.
The route will be about 6 km long, with small climbs and descents also suitable for beginners, and will take us close to the medieval village of Fallascoso. We will pass by theHermitage of San Rinaldo and reach a wooded hill from which we will return via a loop trail.
The activity will last a total of 1.5 hours, of which we will walk for an actual hour.
Who it is aimed at
The activity is suitable for everyone and does not require horse riding experience.
The minimum age for participation is 14 years. Minors must have a riding licence and be accompanied by a parent. If you do not have a licence, this can be issued at the riding school after the lesson preceding the ride, at a cost of €20 (payable locally).
The maximum weight for participants is 120 kg.
