Full description
Horses already saddled: off we go! A horseback ride in Mesenzana is the best way to discover the nature of Valtravaglia, in the province of Varese.
After an initial lesson to learn the basics, you can venture out with an expert guide on dirt roads and forest trails not far from Lake Maggiore.
A one-and-a-halfhour experience that will make you fall in love with horse riding, and you will look forward to getting back in the saddle.
What we will do
We will meet in Mesenzana (VA), 10 minutes before the time chosen when booking.
We will be welcomed at the ranch by our equestrian guide and the horses already saddled and ready for the activity. We will begin with a short 30-minute field lesson in which we will learn the basic commands for riding horses, through small exercises in the saddle.
We will then line up to begin the walk with the guide. Leaving the ranch, we will proceed at pace first on a slightly uphill stretch of asphalt road, then on mostly level dirt tracks through the woods around Mesenzana.
This pretty medieval village belongs to the Valtravaglia, one of the valleys in the province of Varese, not far from Lake Maggiore. Riding for about an hour, we will complete a very peaceful half-loop circuit, perfect also for beginners, which will finally take us back to the ranch.
The activity will last a total of 1 hour and 30 minutes, including 30 minutes of lessons and 1 hour of riding.
Who it is aimed at
The experience is suitable for everyone from the age of 18.
Children aged 14 to 17 years can participate in a reduced version of the activity, which involves 30 minutes of lessons in the field and 20 minutes of walking in the woods around the property without crossing the road.
The maximum weight allowed is 100 kg.

Attention! To participate in the experience, it is mandatory to wear long trousers and closed shoes; if this requirement is not met, the activity may not take place.
The activity takes place all year round with a minimum of 2 participants.
Theitinerary and duration of the experience may vary as it is customised according to the experience of the participants.
Daily insurance is optional: those who wish to take it out can contact the guide after booking confirmation. The cost is €3 to €5 (depending on the policy chosen) to be paid on site.
Any accompanying persons may stay at the riding stables; it is possible to bring dogs on a leash by informing the guide in advance.
The meeting point can be reached by public transport (bus stop 10 minutes' walk from the ranch) or by car, with parking available for guests.
