Full description
Ever been told to take up horse riding? With this 3-hour ride in Val d'Ayas you can do it in the best possible way.
An activity also suitable for those who have only ridden horses a few times and want to improve their skills surrounded by a unique natural landscape.
Forests, streams and a view of the magnificent Monte Rosa will be the perfect setting to get on the saddle and immerse yourself in nature, under the supervision of a guide. All topped off with a snack of Aosta Valley products in a beautiful agriturismo!
What we will do
We will meet at the ranch in Antagnod (AO), 15 minutes before the time selected during the booking.
We'll start by assigning horses and a briefing with the guide to go over basic commands in the field. We will then leave the stables and ride along the Ru Courtaud, an irrigation canal that runs from Saint-Jacques to the Col de Joux, in a succession of silent forests and natural landscapes with views of the imposing Monte Rosa.
We will then arrive at theLa Tchavana farmhouse, where excellent Aosta Valley cheeses and yoghurt are produced. Here we will stop for an aperitif (in the afternoon shift) or for a snack (in the morning shift), with the possibility of tasting locally produced tagliatelle or ice cream.
After a 30-minute stop, we will resume our route and on the way back we will be able to admire the impressive views of the Ayas Valley below.
We will return to the stables after a 3-hour walk.
Who it is aimed at
The activity is suitable for people with minimal riding experience, e.g. having already done a couple of horseback rides, and good physical fitness.
Participants must be at least 8 years old and weigh a maximum of 85 kg.
An accompanying person is not required for minors .
Other information
The activity is available from June to September on Tuesdays, also Saturdays in June and September, and is confirmed with a minimum of 3 participants.
The mount used for the walk is English. Younger children can ride ponies or horses proportionate to their stature.
Please contact the guide after booking confirmation to inform him/her of the participants' age, weight and height, and send photos of ID card and tax code to take outinsurance (included).
For the aperitif/meal, the agriturismo has a variety of food options, but it is preferable to communicate any food allergies and intolerances in advance to the contact details given in the booking confirmation email.
On-site parking is available. The meeting point cannot be reached by public transport.
