Crossing the Alps in a Hot Air Balloon

Every winter, as soon as the winds allow, we organise what can be described as the adventure par excellence in the world of hot air ballooning: the Alpine Crossing.

Much more than the common hot-air balloon flight: the take-off point is carefully chosen between Austria and Germany to guarantee the best route and you fly for 4 to 5 hours crossing the entire Alpine chain, heading towards the sea.

Incredible heights are reached, up to 4,000/5,000 metres above sea level, passing above the most famous peaks of our mountain range. Depending on the winds, you will land in the Venice, Treviso or Verona area. The experience will be carried out in total safety thanks to the expert pilots who will accompany you.

This is an exceptional event that brings together enthusiasts from all over the world, often finding themselves in the air with 30/40 other hot air balloons sharing the same route.

Few experiences can give you the emotions of the Crossing of the Alps in a Hot Air Balloon, it will be a memory you will keep for a lifetime, we can assure you!

What we will do

This activity takes two days: on the evening of the first day, we will go together to the hotel in the country chosen for the take-off, where we will have dinner and spend the night preparing for the upcoming venture (all included in the price) and take off early the next morning.

The country chosen for take-off could be in Austria, such as Seefeld or a location on the Achensee lake, or on the German border. The precise location will be decided by the pilot a few days before the activity in order to plan the best route. It is possible to be near Brunico and be accompanied by the Pilot with his means of transport or, if you prefer, wait for the name of the Hotel to be communicated and go there independently.

The meeting time will be set to be at the Hotel by 18:30 so that we can stop together for dinner. During the meal we will get to know each other and tell each other in detail how the experience will unfold.

The next morning we will go to the take-off point where, if you wish, you can help the crew assemble the balloon. This moment is very evocative and will allow you to discover how the hot air balloon works. Given the exceptional nature of the flight, there are often dozens of hot air balloons that will share the journey with us, making it an indescribable spectacle!

Once in the air we will soar up to 4,000 or 5,000 metres in winds of over 120km/h flying over the peaks of the most majestic mountains in the Alpine range. In the hot-air balloon, the wind is hardly felt at all, while given the altitude it may be necessary to use the oxygen bottles that we always carry with us.

The feeling of floating in the air at this height will give you unforgettable emotions and the scenery will be nothing short of breathtaking, so don't forget to bring your camera!

We will land around lunchtime in the areas of Venice, Treviso or Verona where the pilot will choose the most favourable spot. Once the flight is over, we will all toast together to the adventure we have just experienced and then we will take you back to the initial meeting point.

Who it is aimed at

To fly in a hot-air balloon you must be at least 12 years old (minors must be accompanied by a legal guardian), be at least 130 cm tall and be in good health.

Given the heights we reach (over 4,000 metres) we will carry oxygen cylinders on board that can be used in case of need.

Other information

This activity is bookable from November to February.

Due to theexceptional nature of the venture. maximum flexibility is required of participants: this flight requires perfect weather conditions, which are usually found a dozen times throughout the winter. It is therefore normal that the final date is continually postponed until ideal conditions are found.

On the other hand, this only makes the experience even more special!
