Hot air balloon flight over the Volturno Valley

Flying in a hot-air balloon over the Volturno Valley is a unique experience, a journey through history and nature that you will remember forever.

The Valley, with its bucolic beauty, seems almost created specifically to be admired from the heights of a hot-air balloon. During the hour-long flight, your eyes will wander from the village of Alife to the Temple of Pietraverano , and you will be left speechless by the mighty Matese mountain range in the background.

At the end of the experience, a small reception prepared especially for you to toast to unforgettable memories!

What we will do

We will meet at the designated take-off site, near Alife (CE). The meeting will be early in the morning or shortly before sunset to take advantage of the best thermal conditions of the day. If you want to experience the excitement right from the start, and perhaps take some photos of the balloon inflation, we recommend arriving early.

When everything is ready, we will conduct a short briefing in which we will give you all the information you need for the flight, then you will board the wicker basket. Afterwards, an experienced pilot will take you into the sky, ensuring a safe and spectacular journey. And if you wonder whether you'll be able to see your house from up there, the answer is.... it depends on how big you built it!

During the flight, we can admire the Volturno Valley, with the majestic profile of Mount Matese in the distance. The wind will decide the course of our journey, making each flight a unique and unrepeatable experience. Depending on the winds of the day, we will enjoy spectacular panoramic views, from the picturesque villages of Alife and Pietraverano, with their streets, squares and places of historical interest, to the vineyard-covered hills of the surrounding area.

After about an hour's flight, we will prepare for landing. The staff will be ready and waiting to take us in pick-ups to a local winery (about 15 minutes away) where we will be offered breakfast oran aperitif.

Finally, you will be transported back to the starting point. The total duration of the experience, including briefing, balloon flight, various transfers and refreshments, will be about 3 hours.

Who it is aimed at

Hot air ballooning is a suitable activity for anyone over 130 cm tall and weighing a maximum of 130 kg. If you exceed 95 kg, there is a surcharge of €40.

For safety reasons, flying is not permitted for pregnant women; persons with reduced mobility or injuries that prevent them from independently climbing into the wicker basket; persons with heart problems and persons who have been diving in the 24 hours prior to the flight or who have recently undergone invasive surgery.

Other information

The flight takes place all year round, weather permitting. The landscapes that can be seen during the flight may vary, as the direction of the balloon trip depends on which way the wind is blowing.

Important: the take-off time may vary depending on the period chosen. The day before the activity, you will receive confirmation from the pilot of the exact time and location.

Breakfast includes sweet and savoury food, such as yoghurt and cappuccino, as well as typical local products. Theaperitif includes a board of typical local products and a drink of your choice. Any allergies and intolerances must be reported to the organiser in advance (you will receive contact details by e-mail with your booking confirmation).

Small items such as smartphones and small video cameras are allowed on board.

Animals are not allowed on board the hot-air balloon.
