We met the first truffle dealer in Tuscany!
Or rather, his descendants who continue to cultivate their grandfather's passion by proposing atruffle hunting experience: in the company of our guides and their dog, you will venture into the San Miniato woods in search of this prized ingredient.
A3-hour activity, ending with a themed tasting!
What we will do
The appointment is at the selected time at the meeting point in San Miniato (PI). We will be welcomed by guides who will accompany us on this fragrant and tasty adventure!
Once all participants have gathered, an introduction by a truffle researcher, restaurateur and dealer will take place in the tasting room. Right here, in the territory's most historic company owned by Tuscany's first truffle trader. This first moment will last 15 minutes.
We will then board our own or the organiser's vehicle to reach the truffle hunting location in a couple of minutes. We will venture into the forest, following the truffle dog in its search for the prized ingredient and, once it has been found, we will witness and participate in its discovery!
During the experience, we will be given information about the world of truffles, including information on the seasonality of the harvest, dog training and many other interesting facts. This second moment will last one and a half hours.
We will then return to the meeting point to be seated in the tasting room (included) : we will be served an appetiser of crostini with truffle sauces and a plate of tagliolini with fresh truffle grated, all accompanied by water, wine and coffee. To experience truffle hunting in (and with) all the senses!
The experience will last a total of 3 hours.
Who it is aimed at
The experience is suitable for everyone without age limits; minors must be accompanied by an adult. Children from 0 to 5 years of age participate free of charge , but it is necessary to indicate their presence by contacting the guide at the contact details indicated in the booking confirmation e-mail.
The activity involves about 1 hour of walking in wooded terrain.

Attention! The meeting point is approximately 9 km from the centre of San Miniato.
The experience takes place all year round and is confirmed on reaching a minimum number of 2 participants.
There is free parking on site. The meeting point can be reached by public transport; the experience may require a short transfer using your own vehicle.

What happens in case of bad weather?
If you have made a fixed date reservation and the weather conditions are not suitable for carrying out the activity safely (according to the expert opinion of the guide), you will be refunded the full amount paid. The guide may suggest an alternative date or time for the activity. You are free to choose whether or not to accept these suggestions. If you are unable to reschedule, we will proceed with a full refund! If you have set the date of your Gift Voucher and bad weather has prevented the activity from taking place, the Voucher remains valid until the expiry date indicated on it.
If I cancel the reservation, can I get a full refund?
For this activity, the cancellation policy is flexible. You get a full refund if you cancel within 5 days from the activity start date. Within 4 and 3 days from the activity start date you will get a 50% refund. You can find the full policies in the Cancellation Policy section.
