Full description
Leaving for a holiday in the mountains? If getting behind the wheel on cold days worries you a little, this is the perfect activity for you. A driving course on snow and ice that will turn you into an excellent driver even in the most extreme conditions.
Drive a BMW on the Tonale Pass and learn how to steer, brake and control your speed on icy and snowy roads, alongside a professional instructor.
The theoretical-practical course will last either 4 or 7 hours, depending on your preference. Start warming up your engines!
What we will do
The meeting point is Vermiglio (TN), 15 minutes before the scheduled starting time of the course. You will be welcomed by one of our driving instructors, who will follow you throughout the day.
After the registration and welcome, we will start with a theoretical lesson in the classroom lasting about 1.15 hours. We will cover several important topics for controlling cars on snow and ice, for example the correct driving position and steering techniques in low-grip conditions.
After studying the theory, it will be time to put what we have learned into practice! We will move onto the ice and snow-covered road surface and board a BWM Series 4 Coupé car (or similar, subject to availability). Then, flanked by the instructor, we will perform a series of adrenalin-pumping exercises: slalom and understeer, obstacle avoidance, braking, hairpin turns and loss of grip, turns and trajectories.
If you have chosen the half-day course, the activity will end around 12.30 pm. If, on the other hand, you have booked the full-day course, from 12:30 to 14:00 we will stop for a lunch break (packed or in a partner restaurant, not included), then resume with practice again. In the afternoon we will tackle a road driving session and learn how to fit chains.
From 16:30 to 17:00 it will be time for debriefing and aptitude tests, before saying goodbye. At this point, ice driving will have no more secrets for you!
The total duration of the activity will be either 4 hours or 7 hours, to be chosen at the time of booking.
Who it is aimed at
The experience is suitable for everyone in good physical shape and in possession of a B licence; an original document is required, photocopies and photos are not considered valid.
Amaximum height of 2 metres and a maximum weight of 110 kg are allowed to participate in this activity.
In the case of participants with heart problems or other illnesses, please contact the organiser at the contact details given in your booking confirmation email to provide more information; a medical certificate for fitness may be required.
Please remember to refrain from consuming alcohol and drugs in the 24 hours preceding the experience.
Other information
The course is available on the dates indicated in the calendar and is confirmed with a minimum of 6 participants.
When booking, you can choose the desired duration of the course: "half-day" (4 hours ) or "full-day" (7 hours).
Lunch is not included in the experience. It will be possible to organise your own packed lunch or to have lunch at a number of affiliated restaurants in Vermiglio from €25 per person.

What happens in case of bad weather?
If you have made a fixed date reservation and the weather conditions are not suitable for the safe conduct of the activity (in the expert opinion of the guide), you will be refunded the full amount paid. The guide may suggest an alternative date or time for you to conduct the activity. You can freely choose whether or not to accept these proposals. If you can’t retrieve it, we will process a full refund! If you have set the date for your Gift Voucher and bad weather did not allow the activity to take place, the Voucher remains regularly valid until the expiration date indicated on it.
If I cancel the reservation, can I get a full refund?
For this activity, the cancellation policy is very strict. You get a full refund if you cancel within 31 days from the activity start date. Within 30 and 15 days from the activity start date you will get a 50% refund. You can find the full policies in the Cancellation Policy section.
