A day of go-karting at the Rioveggio track near Bologna

To think that go-karting is just a game is a mistake that lasts only until the first bend.

At Karting Rioveggio in Monzuno (BO), a whole day as a racing driver awaits you on a technical 940-metre circuit, featuring braking points, bends and straights to tackle just a few centimetres from the tarmac. Behind the wheel of a 206 cc single-seater kart, you’ll take to the track for 6 sessions of 15 minutes each, with breaks between each session to recover and get ready to set off again.

What we will do

The meeting is at 9. 00 am at Karting Rioveggio in Monzuno, in the province of Bologna.

After you’ve been welcomed and completed the necessary formalities, you’ll put on the equipment provided: helmet, overalls and rib protectors. You’ll take part in a technical safety briefing, during which the instructor will explain how the brakes and accelerator work, the track rules and the meaning of the flags.

And this is where the fun really begins: at the wheel of your 206 cc Briggs LO206 4-stroke single-seater kart, you’ll race around the track for the first of the six 15-minute sessions scheduled for the day. You’ll tackle a 940-metre track, reaching speeds of up to 80 km/h, feeling every single vibration from the track surface.

Between sessions, you’ll have a break of around 30–45 minutes (depending on how busy it is) to catch your breath, relax and clear your head before heading back out. During one of the breaks, you can grab lunch at the kiosk or at nearby eateries. In each session, you’ll hone your braking technique right up to the chequered flag, which will signal for you to return to the pits.

At the end of the six sessions, you’ll return the equipment provided. The activity will finish between 4. 30 pm and 5. 00 pm, making for a full-day experience.

Who it is aimed at

This activity is suitable for everyone aged 11 and over who is at least 1. 50 metres tall.

Children must be accompanied on site by a parent or a responsible adult.

To take part, you must be in good health.

Other information

The activity takes place all year round on Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays. In the event of rain, the track remains closed.

Accompanying guests are welcome and may wait by the track; there is a kiosk and bar on site, and another refreshment outlet is located in the immediate vicinity.

Before taking to the track, you’ll need to sign the karting rules and regulations. Please note that the entry fee does not cover any damage to the vehicle: in the event of accidents or breakdowns caused by your own fault, you’ll be charged for repair costs in accordance with the terms of the contract.

The meeting point is not easily accessible by public transport; free parking is available on site.
