Fancy an escape from the city chaos? Come and discover Lake Castel Gandolfo, a beautiful natural oasis just a few kilometres from Rome.
On this 3-hour kayak tour, guided by expert instructors, you will immerse yourself in the surrounding vegetation reflected in the lake, creating beautiful plays of light.
You will end the adventure with a delicious aperitif of wine, cheese and salami from the Lazio region!
What we will do
We will meet at the meeting point on Lake Castel Gandolfo, 15 minutes before the indicated time. Here the guides will provide us with the equipment and give us a theoretical and practical lesson on kayak use and paddling techniques.
When we are ready, we will board the kayak and begin the tour of Lake Albano (also known as Lake Castel Gandolfo). Not only will we lose ourselves in nature, penetrating into corners hidden by vegetation and reachable only by kayak, but we will also pass various points of historical interest.
The submerged pile dwellings, the harbour of Domitian's villa, the hermits' houses and the popes' trampoline will keep us company along the way, along with the many stories told by the guides, who will immerse us in the life, past and present, of these places.
Then we will stop at the shore for an aperitif of wine, cheese, typical cold cuts and specialities of the day, and in warmer weather we can take a refreshing swim. In total, the activity will last 3 hours.
Who it is aimed at
This activity is at an easy level and is open to everyone from 14 years old and up.
No previous kayaking experience is necessary. There is a maximum weight limit of 120 kg.
Other information
The activity takes place all year round in the mornings, with the possibility of an afternoon tour from April to October , and is confirmed with a minimum of 2 participants.
Personal items can be kept by the guides. The kayaks are equipped with waterproof bags for carrying smartphones and other items during the tour.
The experience is also possible on double kayaks. Please communicate your preference to your guide at the contact details provided once your booking is confirmed.
Dogs are allowed on the experience: if small they will sit between their owner's legs, if large they will sit in a double kayak. Contact the guide to indicate the presence of your four-legged friend.
For those who do not wish to or cannot travel by car, you can request a free transfer to/from Rome's Metro Anagnina to the meeting point (to be requested directly from the guide after booking).
