Full description
Discover a different Rome, far from the most touristy places. Immerse yourself in its most authentic nature and millennial history with a kayak tour on Lake Castel Gandolfo. Take a leap into the past, among the secrets of Popes and emperors, and perfectly combine sport and the pleasure of discovery.
In the company of experienced local guides, you will visit fascinating places and enjoy the peace and relaxation of the lake's waters, reaching some hidden spots, accessible only by kayak.
You will retrace, step by step, an evocative itinerary, which has literally made those who have taken it for the first time fall in love with it and we are sure it will amaze you too. It will be a real thunderbolt!
What we will do
We will meet 15 minutes before the selected time at the meeting point in Castel Gandolfo (RM). Here the guides will provide us withequipment and give us a kayaking lesson, which will last about 10 minutes.
When we are ready, we will begin our water tour. The guides will tell us the history of Lake Albano (known as Lake Castel Gandolfo) and show us some points of interest: the submerged pile dwellings of the Villaggio dei Mulini, the harbour of Emperor Domitian's villa, from which the ancient Romans watched the spectacle of naval battles, the houses of some hermits, the Pope's summer residence, and the springboard from which the ancient popes loved to dive into the water.
In summer, or when water temperatures allow, we will reach a small beach accessible only by kayak and stop for a relaxing swim in the pristine waters of the lake.
If a beach break is planned, the kayaking experience will last 2½ hours, of which 1½ hours will be paddling; the total duration of the experience will be 3 hours.
Who it is aimed at
This activity is at an easy level and is suitable for everyone from 6 years old and up. No previous kayaking experience is required. There is a maximum weight limit of 120 kg.

Please note. Duration and itinerary of the kayak tour may vary depending on weather conditions, number and experience level of participants at the organiser's discretion.
The activity takes place from January to December subject to weather conditions at the organiser's discretion.
Valuables may be kept by the guides. The kayaks are equipped with waterproof bags for carrying smartphones and other items during the tour.
The experience is also possible on double kayaks. Please communicate your preference to your guide once your booking is confirmed.
For those who do not wish to or cannot travel by car, you can request a free transfer from/to Metro Anagnina in Rome (to be requested directly from the guide after booking).

What happens in case of bad weather?
If you have made a fixed date reservation and the weather conditions are not suitable for the safe conduct of the activity (in the expert opinion of the guide), you will be refunded the full amount paid. The guide may suggest an alternative date or time for you to conduct the activity. You can freely choose whether or not to accept these proposals. If you can’t retrieve it, we will process a full refund! If you have set the date for your Gift Voucher and bad weather did not allow the activity to take place, the Voucher remains regularly valid until the expiration date indicated on it.
If I cancel the reservation, can I get a full refund?
