Is this your first time on horseback?
You couldn’t have made a better choice: a riding lesson and a horse ride, for a carefree first time in the saddle. Accompanied by an equestrian guide, you’ll learn the basics of riding and enjoy a one-hour ride through the scenery of the Maiella National Park.
An activity in the heart of Abruzzo’s ‘green lung’!
What we will do
Please arrive 15 minutes before the selected time at the meeting point in Pratola Peligna (AQ). We’ll be welcomed at the riding school by the riding guide who’ll accompany us on this adventure on horseback!
Once all participants have gathered, we’ll head to the training ground where we’ll meet the horses. We’ll then saddle up and the riding lesson will begin, during which we’ll learn the basics of the sport, ensuring a worry-free first experience on horseback. This first part will last approximately 30 minutes.
This will be followed by our horse ride: we’ll follow a mainly flat path alongside the River Sagittario and venture into the woods of the Maiella National Park, the ‘green lung’ of Abruzzo. Along the route at the foot of Mount Morrone, we’ll also catch a glimpse of Orsa Castle.
Finally, we’ll return to the meeting point. The horse ride will last 1 hour or 2 hours depending on the option selected; the total experience will last 1½ hours or 2½ hours.
Who it is aimed at
The experience is suitable for ages 14 and up. Children under the age of 18 must be accompanied to the riding school by an adult to sign a release form.
A maximum weight of 100 kg is required to participate in the activity.
This experience is of an easy level and suitable for first-time horse riders.
Other information
The experience takes place all year round and is confirmed when a minimum number of 2 participants is reached.
There is free parking on site. The meeting point cannot be reached by public transport.
Any accompanying persons can wait in the riding hall where a clubhouse with meeting point is set up; dogs on a leash are permitted in the riding hall.

What happens in case of bad weather?
If you have made a fixed date reservation and the weather conditions are not suitable for carrying out the activity safely (according to the expert opinion of the guide), you will be refunded the full amount paid. The guide may suggest an alternative date or time for the activity. You are free to choose whether or not to accept these suggestions. If you are unable to reschedule, we will proceed with a full refund! If you have set the date of your Gift Voucher and bad weather has prevented the activity from taking place, the Voucher remains valid until the expiry date indicated on it.
If I cancel the reservation, can I get a full refund?
