Meeting with birds of prey and night walk near Turin

Spread your wings in the world of falconry with anexperience of approaching birds of prey in Gassino Torinese.

The activity will begin with anintroduction to falconry, during which you will have the opportunity to learn many curiosities and biological aspects about birds of prey: you will have the chance to observe their flight and learn how to call them on your fist.

But the real magic will happen after sunset: when you will plunge into the forest at night to discover its nocturnal animals. How will you see them? Thanks to a thermal imaging camera connected to your phone!

What we will do

We will meet in Gassino Torinese (TO), at the meeting point and time indicated during the booking process.

After welcoming the participants, we will have a briefing with the falconer to explain the activity we are going to carry out and some basic notions about birds of prey.

We will then set off on a walk of about 3 hours, accompanied by birds of prey, which we will learn to call to the fist with a glove. We will see buzzards and hawks fly, immersing ourselves in the pre-hill landscape of the province of Turin after sunset.

This will be a fascinating night walk to discover the world of animals at night. We will go into the vegetation with a thermal camera, which will allow us to detect the heat emitted by the animals' bodies and recognise their different shapes. Each participant will be able to download anapp connected to the thermal camera onto their phone, so that they can keep track of the movements of the inhabitants of the forest.

At the end of the activity, we will return to the facility for final greetings. The experience will last between 4 and 5 hours, depending on the season.

Who it is aimed at

The activity is suitable for all persons with good mobility from the age of 10.

Minors must be accompanied by a parent, who must be a participant in the activity.

Other information

The activity is available all year round and is confirmed upon reaching a minimum of 5 participants.

From November to March the activity will last approximately 4 hours, and from April to October it will last approximately 5 hours.

The facility has a car park and can be reached by public transport.

No accompanying persons or animals are allowed.
