Join an exciting walk to the Menotre waterfalls, a hidden gem in the Umbrian mountains.
Starting from Foligno, you will visit theHermitage of Santa Maria Giacobbe and the Abbadessa Caves in the company of an expert guide. You will then reach the point where the Menotre River falls, offering a true spectacle of nature.
It will be an unforgettable experience for all lovers of hiking and trekking in nature.
What we will do
We will meet in the morning at 9 a.m. in Foligno. Having got to know the guide and our fellow adventurers, we will be ready to set off.
To reach the point with the best view of the falls, we will pass through the small village of Pale, a concentration of history, art and nature. While we admire the beauty of this small village, our guide will tell us the history of its paper mills, which have been operating since the 13th century thanks to the hydraulic energy derived from the Menotre river.
We will also have a small coffee break before continuing with our walk. We will then reach theHermitage of Santa Maria Giacobbe which, exceptionally, thanks to the presence of our guide, we will be able to visit inside, admiring its frescoes.
The flow of the river has carved the rock and given rise to the Abbadessa Caves: we will be able to admire them before reaching the Menotre Falls. We will be able to observe the point where the river of the same name falls and creates this spectacle of nature.
The return to the starting point will be by shuttle bus. The total duration of the excursion is 4 hours, after covering 4 km.

The activity takes place every day from April to October, weather permitting, and is confirmed when there are at least four participants.

If you have made a fixed date reservation and the weather conditions are not suitable for the safe conduct of the activity (in the expert opinion of the guide), you will be refunded the full amount paid. The guide may suggest an alternative date or time for you to conduct the activity. You can freely choose whether or not to accept these proposals. If you can’t retrieve it, we will process a full refund! If you have set the date for your Gift Voucher and bad weather did not allow the activity to take place, the Voucher remains regularly valid until the expiration date indicated on it.
If I cancel the reservation, can I get a full refund?
For this activity, the cancellation policy is flexible. You get a full refund if you cancel within 5 days from the activity start date. Within 4 and 3 days from the activity start date you will get a 50% refund. You can find the full policies in the Cancellation Policy section.
