Among the many possibilities the Ligurian Sea offers is the chance to spot dolphins or minke whales. Discover the best of the marine fauna that characterises this protected area with our motorboat excursion, departing from Savona.
The Pelagos Sanctuary stretches from the French coast to the north of Sardinia to Tuscany. It is aprotected marine area in the Mediterranean where there is a massive concentration of cetaceans, thanks mainly to the abundance of food.
Accompanied by two expert spotters, you can admire many different species and learn more about their behaviour and habits. Ready to take unforgettable photos? We are waiting for you.
What we will do
The appointment is 30 minutes before the selected time in Savona , which coincides with departure. The crew will welcome us and take us on board a motor vessel equipped with every comfort.
On this guided cruise in search of cetaceans, we will enter the Pelagos Sanctuary to discover the species that inhabit it. The sighting venture requires patient monitoring and observation of the surface, remembering that wild animals are sought out and there are no set times or points at which to encounter them. The navigation of a few hours will then be rewarded by the unique thrill ofspotting these magnificent specimens!
Together with experienced spotters, we will watch a video lecture and then go in search of the common dolphin, bottlenose dolphin, striped dolphin, minke whale, sperm whale, pilot whale, Risso's whale, beaked whale, orca and pseudo-whale.
The itinerary varies from time to time: depending on the sightings, we may head towards Noli or Spotorno.
After about 3½ hours we will return to the port of departure.

The activity is suitable for everyone, with no age limit. Children under 3 years participate free of charge.

The experience takes place from April to October.
The boat is a motor vessel with two toilets and a bar where you can buy typical Ligurian food and drinks. Dogs are not allowed on board.
The excursion takes place in the open sea, far from the coast. If this is your first experience or you are particularly susceptible to seasickness, it is advisable to take the right precautions: a light breakfast without dairy products and sweet foods and, if necessary, a seasickness pill 2 hours before departure.

If you have made a fixed date reservation and the weather conditions are not suitable for carrying out the activity safely (according to the expert opinion of the guide), you will be refunded the full amount paid. The guide may suggest an alternative date or time for the activity. You are free to choose whether or not to accept these suggestions. If you are unable to reschedule, we will proceed with a full refund! If you have set the date of your Gift Voucher and bad weather has prevented the activity from taking place, the Voucher remains valid until the expiry date indicated on it.
