Family igloo night with snowshoeing and Tyrolean dinner in South Tyrol

An igloo at 2000 metres, the silence of the mountains and the magic of snow - these are the ingredients for an unforgettable adventure, suitable for the whole family!

From snowshoeing among the snow-covered peaks of the Zillertal Alps to a typical Tyrolean dinner and the comfort of an enchanting ice hut- every moment will be special. Wrapped in thermal sleeping bags and soft skins, the whole family can sleep warm and wake up to a hearty breakfast.

What we will do

The meeting point is at 3.30 p.m. at the valley station of Speikboden, one of South Tyrol's most famous ski resorts, at Costa di Tures in Campo Tures (BZ). From here you will take the cable car (ticket not included) up to the picturesque igloo village at 2000 metres above sea level, where you will be welcomed with a welcome toast with hot tea or mulled wine.

At around 4.30 p.m. you will set off with your mountain guide for an easy snowshoe hike that is also suitable for children. The approx. 1.5-hour walk through snow-covered forests and slopes will take you to a natural terrace from where you can admire the enchantment of the Ahrntal Valley.

On your return to the igloo village, an aperitif with prosecco and fruit juice awaits you, followed by a delicious 3-course dinner in the igloo restaurant. The all-Tyrolean menu will delight you with tasty goulash and sweet Kaiserschmarrn, accompanied by a good glass of wine.

After dinner, you can enjoy a moment of pure relaxation in the sauna and outdoor whirlpools, surrounded by snow and stars. And when you are ready for the night, you will settle down in your Igloo family: a cosy retreat with sheepskin beds and thermal sleeping bags that guarantee a warm and comfortable sleep; the bathroom is 100 metres from the accommodation and has no shower.

When you wake up, a breakfast awaits you in the restaurant with coffee, tea and other local delicacies. Then you can choose how to end the adventure: a further hike in the snow, a toboggan ride through the snowy forest or a comfortable return trip by cable car. Whichever you choose, you will return home with a smile and the memory of a special night with your family!

Who it is aimed at

The activity is suitable for everyone from 8 years of age. Children under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent or responsible adult.

Other information

The activity can be booked from December to April.

Important: to reach the facility, it is necessary to take the Speikboden ski lift; the ticket is not included in the fee and can be purchased on site or online. Alternatively, you can make the ascent and descent by sledge; contact your guide to arrange transport (you will receive contact details by e-mail with your booking confirmation).

Dinner is included and includes a 3-course menu with typical Tyrolean dishes such as goulash and kaiserschmarren (sweet omelette). If you have any allergies, intolerances or food preferences, please contact the organiser in advance to inform them.

Towels and bathrobes are not included and can be hired on site at an extra cost of approximately €5. Alternatively, you can bring your own from home.

The venue can be reached either by car or public transport; there is ample free parking on site.
