Set off on anexciting adventure on Mount Etna, hike over extinct craters, visit lava caves and enjoy a wonderful view of the Ionian coast!
You will climb to altitude aboard a 4WD and then trek together with a dedicated volcanological mountain guide who will help you discover all the secrets of Europe's largest active volcano.
An activity suitable for everyone to explore one of Sicily 's iconic sites: an experience not to be missed!
What we will do
The appointment is 15 minutes before 09:00 at the meeting point in Viagrande (CT). The volcano guide will welcome us and, after a brief introductory briefing, we will be ready to set off on our off-road adventure!
On board the 4x4 , we will climb the winding slopes of the volcano, stopping every now and then to admire the landscape and listen to the guide's stories. At an altitude of about 1,900 metres, we get out of the 4x4 to begin a simple 3-kilometre-long trek with little altitude difference.
Still accompanied by the guide's information, we will cross the extinct craters and visit a lava flow cave, inside of which ice stalactites form during the winter, making the environment even more impressive!
All around, we will be surrounded by the fascinating landscapes of the volcano: the brown earth contrasting with the green vegetation and the blue sea. After the panoramic tour and the visit to the cave, we will return to the starting point by off-road vehicle.
The experience will last about 5 hours in total.

The experience takes place all year round and is confirmed when a minimum number of 2 participants is reached.
There is free parking on site. The meeting point can be reached by public transport. A transfer service from your accommodation to the meeting point is available at a cost of €10.00 per person: to request this, contact the organiser (references will be sent to you by e-mail with the booking confirmation).
The organiser has several off-road vehicles approved for the transport of 7 or 8 passengers and used according to availability. Child seats are available to request free of charge by contacting the organiser at the contact details given in the booking confirmation e-mail.

What happens in case of bad weather?
If you have made a fixed date reservation and the weather conditions are not suitable for carrying out the activity safely (according to the expert opinion of the guide), you will be refunded the full amount paid. The guide may suggest an alternative date or time for the activity. You are free to choose whether or not to accept these suggestions. If you are unable to reschedule, we will proceed with a full refund! If you have set the date of your Gift Voucher and bad weather has prevented the activity from taking place, the Voucher remains valid until the expiry date indicated on it.
If I cancel the reservation, can I get a full refund?
For this activity, the cancellation policy is flexible. You get a full refund if you cancel within 5 days from the activity start date. Within 4 and 3 days from the activity start date you will get a 50% refund. You can find the full policies in the Cancellation Policy section.
