Full description
Could you recognise a good oil with your eyes closed?
In the heart of Chianti you can learn to do so thanks to this experience! You will walk through the olive groves together with your guide and discover how they are cultivated, then taste different types of oil and learn how to recognise all their nuances. Finally, a delicious lunch with typical flavours awaits you.
Don't miss the excitement of this sensory journey!
What we will do
The appointment is 15 minutes before the time indicated on the calendar at San Polo In Chianti (FI) . We will be welcomed by our guide, who will accompany us on an experience immersed in the rural landscape of Chianti.
We will begin with a guided walk through the olive grove (included) , where we will talk about living soil and biodynamic agriculture. We will learn the difference between conventional and natural cultivation, how the soil is nourished without chemicals, and why biodiversity is the first ally of olive trees.
After about 1 hour, we will participate in an extra virgin olive oil tasting (included) . We will learn the professional technique of stripping to recognise scents and scents such as artichoke, almond and fresh grass, and understand how to identify a quality oil, rich in polyphenols, and therefore naturally bitter and spicy.
Finally, after 1 hour dedicated to tasting, it will be time for lunch (included) , designed to show how oil really changes the flavour of food. The menu includes bruschetta, pinzimonio of fresh vegetables, a traditional Tuscan soup (such as ribollita or pappa al pomodoro) and cantucci with vin santo or other dessert. All accompanied by water and wine included.
This experience in contact with the scents, colours and flavours of nature will last a total of four and a half hours and will give us an unforgettable immersion in the Tuscan countryside.
Who it is aimed at
The experience is suitable for everyone, regardless of age. Children under the age of 18 can only participate if accompanied by a responsible adult.
The walk through the olive grove includes a walking section and is therefore not accessible to wheelchair users, who can however participate in the explanations and lunch.
