Ever had the feeling you've lost your compass?
Take part in our orienteering adventure in Val Cerrina, in the province of Alessandria. In the company of Stefano, an environmental hiking guide, you will learn how to read maps and find your way around the heart of Sacro Monte di Crea.
A 6-hourexperience to find your way (the right one! ) and discover paths that the autopilot of everyday life would make you ignore!
What we will do
The appointment is at the Sanctuary of the Madonna di Crea, in Serralunga di Crea (AL). Here we will meet Stefano, our guide, who will introduce us to the basics of hiking.
During the initial briefing, we will look at topographical maps and learn how to prepare our rucksacks correctly, discovering the most common mistakes to avoid in order to move around safely and in full respect of the environment.
After that, we will finally move on to the practical part. We will begin an orientation exercise based on the use of a map and compass. We will learn to recognise landmarks on the ground and also to orient ourselves using natural methods, such as observing the position of the sun. It will be the perfect time to test our sense of orientation!
The route will take us through the picturesque landscapes of the Cerrina Valley, alternating easy stretches with more technical passages through the villages of the area. We will walk for about 5 km with an altitude difference of 250-300 metres, ideal for those who want to approach this discipline for the first time.
During the hike, we will have the choice of eating a packed lunch or stopping at a local bar for a quick sandwich and some snacks. At the end of the activity, after about 6 hours of exploration, we will return to the starting point.
Who it is aimed at
The activity is of an easy level and suitable for everyone. The minimum age for participation is 14; minors must be accompanied by a participating adult.
Other information
The experience is available all year round, every day from 10 a. m. to 4 p. m. and is confirmed with a minimum of three participants.
As for lunch, you can bring it from home to enjoy outdoors or stop at a local café for a sandwich or a quick snack.
The activity includes insurance; to activate it, simply communicate your details to the guide.
The meeting point cannot be reached by public transport, but there is free parking on site.

What happens in case of bad weather?
If you have made a fixed date reservation and the weather conditions are not suitable for carrying out the activity safely (according to the expert opinion of the guide), you will be refunded the full amount paid. The guide may suggest an alternative date or time for the activity. You are free to choose whether or not to accept these suggestions. If you are unable to reschedule, we will proceed with a full refund! If you have set the date of your Gift Voucher and bad weather has prevented the activity from taking place, the Voucher remains valid until the expiry date indicated on it.
If I cancel the reservation, can I get a full refund?
For this activity, the cancellation policy is flexible. You get a full refund if you cancel within 5 days from the activity start date. Within 4 and 3 days from the activity start date you will get a 50% refund. You can find the full policies in the Cancellation Policy section.
