Panoramic hike in the Val Grande National Park

If you love walking on scenic trails, don't miss this excursion in the Val Grande National Park, a place where you can really listen to the silence of nature.

Get ready for an adventure to be lived with your backpack on your shoulders and your boots on your feet, which will allow you to penetrate into the wild nature of the park together with an expert guide who will tell you stories and curiosities about the area.

The experience will take place in theAlta Val Grande, the most alpine area of the park, where the environments are open and airy. You will walk along a 10 km ring-route covering 800 metres of altitude difference. Pack your rucksack and bring a big smile!

What we will do

The meeting with the guide is at 9 a.m. in Craveggia. After due introductions, you will drive to Fondighebi , where the hike will begin.

During the first part of the hike you will see the animals grazing peacefully and relaxed in the sunshine. You will then walk up the slope on hairpin bends and after passing through a beech forest you will reach the ridge separating the Loana and Prebusa valleys.

From here the path will take you along a very airy and scenic route that will lead you to the Cortechiuso bivouac, a typical example of a Valgrandino support point. Here you can recover your energy with the packed lunch you will have brought from home and rest a while admiring the lush nature. Your guide will offer you hot coffee and sweets.

Then you will resume your walk and cross the pass into the Scaredi glacial cirque, with a small alpine lake at the bottom. There is a spectacular panorama from here and on a clear day you can even see the majestic Monte Rosa.

If you wish, and weather and group conditions permit, during the summer season it is possible to reach the summit of Laurasca by climbing a further 150 m, from where you can enjoy a 360 degree view of the heart of the park, Monte Rosa, Lake Maggiore and the Po valley.

From this point onwards, the last section of the loop trail begins, downhill. The excursion ends with the return to the cars at around 17:30.

During the experience, 10 km of trails will be covered over 800 m of altitude difference.

Who it is aimed at

The hike requires moderate commitment. The minimum age for participation is 14.

Other information

The experience takes place from May to October and is reserved for private groups of up to 6 people.

It is important to bear in mind that the telephone inside the park will not pick up a signal most of the time. The bivouacs are without toilets.

Shadow, the guide's Husky puppy, will also participate; she is reserved and tame and will be kept on a leash for the duration of the hike. Other dogs may also participate, but they must always be kept on a leash.

It is possible to take out an individual accident insurance policy at an extra cost of 5€ per person to be paid on site. Just inform the guide of your name, surname and tax code at least two days before departure.
