Parrot Experience in Oltrepò Pavese

A few kilometres from Pavia, amidst rice cultivations and rolling hills with renowned vineyards, you have the chance to see a flock of colourful parrots fly by, just as if you were in the rainforest!

Anoriginal and fun experience for young and old, for animal lovers and for those who want to spend a few hours in nature doing something unusual.

You will be the guest of anassociation that takes care of the care and protection of parrots, you will discover their world and habits, you will be able to interact and socialise with them, learning how to call them to your arm.

What we will do

The activity takes place on Sundays at the Association's headquarters in Verrua Po, in the province of Pavia. On arrival we will be welcomed by the staff and begin to enter the world of these colourful birds. The headquarters hosts parrots of various species, including Ararauna, Chloroptera, Amazons, Parakeets and Calopsitti.

Together with the guide, we will learn how to distinguish them, their behaviour and biological aspects. We will understand the importance of the work carried out by the association, which rescues and gives a home to specimens that are orphaned by their owner.

And then the most fun part: the flying demonstrations, learning the techniques of arm calls and the chance to interact with the parrots thanks to the methods explained by the guide.

In the months when the experience takes place in the morning, we end the activity with a delicious savoury snack with chips, cold cuts and sandwiches. If, on the other hand, we carry out the experience in the afternoon, we will all have a snack together with sweet and savoury homemade cakes.

In total, the experience will last 3 hours and will be aimed at supporting and promoting the rescue, care and feeding activities of the birds hosted by the Association.

Who it is aimed at

This activity is open to all, with no age limit.

Children under the age of 5 participate free of charge.

Other information

This activity can be booked every Sunday, subject to the organisational requirements of the Association.

Dogs are not allowed.
