Let the wind blow you over the vineyards, olive groves and characteristic villages and admire the postcard-perfect landscapes of the Tuscan countryside from above.
A hot-air balloon flight is an unforgettable journey, a walk in the sky in the early hours of the morning when the colours are brilliant and the world is preparing for a new day.
What we will do
The rendezvous is at dawn, between 5.30 and 7.30 a.m., depending on the time of year. Usually one takes off from San Casciano Val di Pesa (FI), but if the wind conditions are not favourable, the pilot will identify another take-off area, again in the Chianti region.
Once at the site, the hot-air balloon is prepared, the burner is lit, and the balloon is inflated. Then there is a briefing on how to fly comfortably and safely and, finally, they board the wicker basket, ready for take-off.
The moment when the balloon lifts off the ground and begins to gain altitude will be very exciting, as will the whole trip. The path of the balloon is unpredictable because it depends on the direction in which the wind is blowing. In any case, you will be flying in the Chianti area, with its typical Tuscan hills dotted with vineyards, olive groves and characteristic villages.
The flight will last about 1 hour and upon landing you will be greeted by ground staff who will offer you a toast of typical products, before taking you back to your starting point. In total, considering preparation, flight and transfers, the activity will last about 3 hours.
Who it is aimed at
Hot air ballooning is a suitable activity for all healthy people, aged 5 years and over. The only restrictions are for pregnant women, those suffering from cardiovascular diseases and those with mobility problems in their lower limbs.

This activity can be carried out all year round, weather permitting, and is reserved for private groups of 2 to 5 people.
A hot-air balloon flight is an activity closely linked to the weather. The day before the scheduled date, the pilot will confirm the feasibility of the flight, the time and the take-off point after checking the latest weather report.
After booking, you will be able to request a free shuttle service to/from your hotel or residence in Florence.

What happens in case of bad weather?
If you have made a fixed date reservation and the weather conditions are not suitable for the safe conduct of the activity (in the expert opinion of the guide), you will be refunded the full amount paid. The guide may suggest an alternative date or time for you to conduct the activity. You can freely choose whether or not to accept these proposals. If you can’t retrieve it, we will process a full refund! If you have set the date for your Gift Voucher and bad weather did not allow the activity to take place, the Voucher remains regularly valid until the expiration date indicated on it.
If I cancel the reservation, can I get a full refund?
For this activity, the cancellation policy is moderate. You get a full refund if you cancel within 8 days from the activity start date. Within 7 and 5 days from the activity start date you will get a 50% refund. You can find the full policies in the Cancellation Policy section.
