What we will do

Ballooning is an activity that is closely linked to weather and wind conditions, so the exact take-off point cannot be determined in advance. But don't worry, the pilot will personally take care of your every need and the day before the flight, after checking the latest weather report, will provide you with the precise address of the meeting place.

When you arrive at the site, you will be welcomed by the staff and will be able to follow all the stages of preparing the hot-air balloon. After lighting the flame that heats the air in the balloon, you will wait for the temperature to rise until you take off.

Once you reach flight altitude, you will be guided by the wind; it will decide the path of the balloon with its currents. You will fly over the Sassi of Matera, that much is certain, but the angle from which you will admire the spectacle will only be revealed at the last moment. The early morning lights will make the atmosphere glow and, if it is a sunny day, the walls of the little houses set in the rock will be coloured a beautiful golden hue.

The experience lasts a total of 3 hours, including 1 hour of actual flight time. Upon landing, the staff will be waiting for you to offer you a homemade aperitif with excellent local products and, finally, they will drive you back to the initial meeting point.

Who it is aimed at

This activity is easy and suitable for everyone from 8 years old and up (with a minimum height of 130 cm). To fly in a hot-air balloon, you only need to be in good health. The only restrictions are for pregnant women, those suffering from serious illnesses incompatible with flying, and those with mobility problems in their lower limbs.

Attention! Please arrive at the meeting point about half an hour before the departure time.

Important: this activity can be booked all year round, but will only be confirmed if weather conditions are compatible with maximum safety for participants. Should the flight not be confirmed on your requested date, the organiser will propose alternative dates.

The flight takes place in the early morning hours to take advantage of the best currents. The day before the activity, the pilot will confirm the meeting time and give you the exact address.

If you are in a couple,drinks can be taken either on landing or during the flight. Communicate your preference to the pilot after booking.
