Rafting No Limits on the Lao River

From Laino Borgo to Papasidero on the rafting raft, through canyons, rapids and narrow passages between rocky gorges: 29 km of pure adrenaline and fun!

Together with our expert guides you will explore the heart of the Pollino, Italy's largest protected natural area. It will be an unforgettable day to experience in one breath!

What we will do

We will meet at the rafting centre in Laino Borgo, in the province of Cosenza. We will meet the guides who will provide us with all theequipment and, after a briefing on the route, we will move by shuttle bus to the embarkation point on the Lao river.

Before embarking, the guides will explain to us the safety rules and basic rules for navigating the dinghy. Then everyone in the water, a long rafting descent awaits us! We will cover theentire navigable stretch of the Lao river, from Laino Borgo to Papasidero for a total length of 29 km.

The river route will give us great thrills. We will cross the Lao Gorge, one of the largest canyons in Europe, famous for being a UNESCO Geological Site, with majestic rock walls, lush vegetation and crystal-clear water.

We will encounter rapids and challenging passages that will keep us breathless. About halfway down, we will stop on the banks of the river to eat ( lunch based on typical Calabrian products will be brought and prepared by the guides), and then we will set off again on the rafts until we reach Papasidero, where the shuttle will be waiting for us to take us back to the rafting centre.

In total, the activity will last about 7 hours.

Who it is aimed at

This activity is at an intermediate level and is suitable for everyone from 14 years of age. No experience is required to participate, you just need to be in good health and have good aquatic skills.

Other information

This activity is available from March to November, depending on the weather and the river's hydrometric levels, and is confirmed when there are at least 4 people.

The rafting centre has anarea equipped with a swimming pool, camping site, camper van, barbecue and dog area. After booking, you can contact the centre directly for more information on extra services.

The day before, you will be contacted by the guide for confirmation of the time and other organisational details.

Minors must be accompanied or present signed parentalauthorisation.

Lunch included in the participation fee includes local cheeses and cold cuts, aubergines in oil and other local products.
