River trekking and rafting on the Lao river in Calabria

Experience a double experience on the Lao River and experience river trekking and soft rafting in one day!

After an introductory briefing with your guide, you will embark on a 1.5-kilometre river trek, walking through a truly pristine landscape and plunging into pools of crystal-clear water.

You'll then reach the starting point of the rafting descent and board an inflatable boat to travel 4 km through rapids and small waterfalls. The adventure will end with paddling, splashing and laughing with your fellow adventurers.

What we will do

We will meet in Laino Borgo (CS), to board the shuttle that will take us to the point on the Lao river where our double adventure will begin. The activity includes a first part of river trekking and a second part of soft rafting.

After about a 10-minute shuttle transfer, we will reach our destination. We will follow a briefing of about 15 minutes, during which our guide will give us all the information we need to make the most of the experience.

We will break the ice with a 1.5 km river trek. We will cross a very quiet section of the river, which is also perfect for young participants. We will walk while enjoying the beautiful landscape, lulled by the sound of the water flowing over the rocky river bed. Not only that, the guide will make the walk more interesting by pointing out the spots where we can dive into the water or lie down to be carried away by the current.

Once this first part is over, the second activity will begin, involving a change of scenery. We will board the rubber dinghies (which can accommodate from 2 to 6 people, in addition to the guide) and prepare to go down the river with our paddles.

The rafting course will be about 4 km long and will feature an initial section with small rapids and pools of water and a more eventful final section with jumps and small rapids.

The activity will last a total of 3 hours, including briefings and transfers.

Who it is aimed at

The activity is suitable for everyone from the age of 5. Good health and good aquatic skills are sufficient.

From the age of 10 and up, children can also participate on their own with a release form signed by their parent, while under this age the presence of an accompanying adult is required.

Other information

The activity is available from March to November and is confirmed with a minimum of 2 participants.

At the end of the experience, participants will have access to the facility's toilets and changing rooms with showers for changing.

Photos of the rafting experience, which will be shared via email, can be purchased on site at an additional cost of 20€ per raft.
