Full description
Not all donuts come with a hole. But those of River Tubing do!
Climb aboard your single-seater donut and navigate the Mercure-Lao river, in the beautiful natural setting of the Pollino National Park. You'll have fun tackling small rapids and jumps, surrounded by the characteristic flora and fauna of this corner of Basilicata.
A new way of exploring the area, full of nature and fun!
What we will do
The appointment is 10 minutes before the selected time at the meeting point in Viggianello (PZ). Awaiting us will be the River Tubing Guide, as well as an Environmental Hiking Guide and River Rescue Technician, who will accompany us on this adventure!
Having gathered all the participants, we will watch a video-presentation on the activity, followed by the handover of equipment and dressing up. We will then board the shuttle bus provided by the organiser to reach the venue, which is only a few minutes away. At the destination, a briefing in preparation for the activity will take place: we will learn how to row, how to tackle a rapids and other useful practices for a carefree experience.
And here we are ready to climb into our single-seater donut and, oar in hand, navigate the Mercure-Lao river! We will venture into this beautiful natural setting in the Pollino National Park, between Viggianello and Rotonda. We will have fun tackling small rapids and jumps, as well as listening to explanations about the local flora and fauna narrated by the guide. The short route measures 4 km and the walking time is 50 minutes; the long route measures 6 km and the walking time is 90 minutes.
At the end of the route, we will board the shuttle bus provided by the organiser to return to the meeting point. The experience will last a total of 2 ½ hours (short route) or 3 hours (long route).
