Get in touch with nature in the Pollino National Park on a walk along the Lao River with an environmental guide.
The 'Mercurion' river walk is designed for families with children from 4 years of age. It is a simple and fun 2 km walk that will allow you to observe aquatic plants and animals up close.
You will walk with your feet in the crystal clear water of the river, amidst the sounds and colours of nature, for asensory experience that will amaze you!
What we will do
We will meet at the rafting centre in Laino Borgo, in the province of Cosenza. After getting acquainted with the guide who will accompany us on the river walking route, we will be given ourequipment (lifejacket, helmet and wetsuit if necessary) and we will be ready to reach the starting point of the walk by shuttle bus.
We will walk inside the Lao river, in a 2 km stretch where the waters are calm and crystal clear, observing the flora and fauna and discovering the interesting environmental characteristics of this place, thanks to the guide's explanations.
The route is free of technical difficulties and you get wet just enough to enjoy a touch of freshness on a hot summer's day. The Lao River and the Pollino Park reserve surprises in every season, with the colours changing from month to month and the life of the ecosystem never stopping!
In total, the activity lasts 1 hour and ends with a return to the base, where we can change and enjoy the equipped area of the rafting centre.
Who it is aimed at
This activity is at an easy level and is suitable for everyone from 4 years old and up. No previous experience is required, just being in good health.
Other information
This activity is available from April to October, depending on the weather and the river's hydrometric levels, and is confirmed when there are at least four people.
The rafting centre has anarea equipped with a swimming pool, camping site, camper van, barbecue and dog area. After booking, you can contact the centre directly for more information on extra services.
Minors must be accompanied or present anauthorisation signed by their parents.
