Full description
Spend a day discovering the wonderful seabed of the Argentario and experience the thrill of sea baptism accompanied by a professional instructor. You will embark from Porto Ercole to reach the beautiful island of Giannutri and the Cetacean Sanctuary, a strategic point for dolphin sightings.
Here you will make your first dive, followed step by step by your instructor, and explore the underwater beauty for 30 minutes, marvelling at each new discovery.
After the dive there will still be time to relax, sunbathe, and admire the unique landscapes of the Tuscan Archipelago. In the company of the captain and your fellow adventurers, you will enjoy an excellent lunch prepared on board.
What we will do
We will meet at 8:00 am in Porto Ercole, from where we will depart for the first dive site at 9:00 am. On board our boat we will start the day at sea with coffee, tea and pastries and learn how to assemble thediving equipment included in the tour.
After about 40 minutes of sailing we will reach theisland of Giannutri. As the boat glides over the waves, we will admire the Spanish fortresses of Porto Ercole and the Argentario coastline. With a bit of luck we will even spot dolphins!
Relaxing and enjoying the scenery, we will arrive at the first dive site in the marine protected area of the Cetacean Sanctuary. Here we will have a briefing to familiarise ourselves with the diving equipment and explain the course of the dive. We will dive to a maximum depth of 12 metres: an experience of pure wonderment face to face with the inhabitants of the sea.
After 30 minutes of diving, we will re-board the boat for a tasty break with bruschetta, sandwiches, fresh fruit and drinks. We will then continue sailing to the second mooring point, where we can snorkel along the coast or relax in the sun before lunch.
The captain will surprise us with his three main courses, fish, meat and vegetarian. The lunch will be rounded off with wine, coffee, and Grandma Renata's fantastic homemade cakes.
After lunch we will return to Porto Ercole, sailing along the coast and enjoying the views of the Tuscan Archipelago, aware that the wonder is not only before our eyes, but also and above all beneath the surface of the sea.
The total duration of the sea baptism tour is 8 hours.
Who it is aimed at
The sea baptism is suitable for everyone from 8 years of age. There is no age limit for accompanying persons.
Baptism of the sea is ideal for beginners. A diving licence is not necessary: the only requirement is to be in good health and have no particular illnesses.
Other information
The tour takes place daily from May until September. Please note: the dive site may vary depending on the marine weather conditions.
The excursion takes place on board a 17-metre boat that can carry up to 25 people, equipped with a sunbathing area, deck area, kitchen, dinette and toilet.
For lunch, vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free alternatives are available. To make a request, please contact the organiser after the booking confirmation.
It will also be possible to rent an underwater camera (extra to be paid locally) to take home the images of your experience.
Do you want to participate in this experience as an 'escort' but don't want to dive? You can stay on board and watch the dive or snorkel independently at the reduced cost of €40.00 (0 to 10 years old) or €70.00 (11 years old and up). Contact us to make a reservation as an 'accompanying person'.

If you have made a fixed-date booking and the weather conditions are not suitable for safely carrying out the activity (according to the expert opinion of the guide), you will be fully refunded. The guide may offer you an alternative date or time for the activity. You are free to accept or decline these proposals. If you cannot reschedule, we will proceed with a full refund!
If I cancel the reservation, can I get a full refund?
For this activity, the cancellation policy is flexible. You get a full refund if you cancel within 5 days from the activity start date. Within 4 and 3 days from the activity start date you will get a 50% refund. You can find the full policies in the Cancellation Policy section.
