"At the bottom of the sea" in the natural spectacle of the Cinque Terre: there is no better location to celebrate your sea baptism.
Approach the fascinating world of scuba diving in the beautiful setting of theMarine Protected Area and descend to a depth of 12 m in the company of a professional NADD instructor.
After a briefing at the diving centre, you will dive from shore in the small harbour of Riomaggiore for 35-40 minutes. Get ready for face-to-face encounters with the marine inhabitants of this corner of Liguria!
What we will do
The appointment is at the diving centre in Riomaggiore (SP), 10 minutes before the time indicated in the booking.
Here we will be welcomed by a professional NADD dive instructor, trained in the Italian Navy, and begin with a theoretical briefing. We will learn how to behave during the dive and all the procedures for diving safely.
Once the theoretical part is over, we will prepare ourdiving equipment and proceed to dressing. We will then descend two flights of stairs to reach the sea in the small port of Riomaggiore, the point of our dive. We willenter the water directly from the shore: one by one with the instructor, we will try to descend to different depths, from 1 m to 12 m maximum.
Thedive will last about 35-40 minutes, during which we will be able to observe the many Mediterranean species that inhabit theCinque Terre Marine Protected Area. Depending on the time of year, it will be possible to encounter lobsters, moray eels, conger eels in their burrows, barracudas, groupers and sunfish.
At the end we will return to the diving centre, where we can change after the activity. The experience will last a total of about two hours, including theoretical briefing, preparation and diving.
Who it is aimed at
The activity is suitable for participants aged 12 and over.
In the case of minors, the organisers must be notified after the booking confirmation. In this case, the activity will take place with a group of max. 2 persons (1 minor and 1 adult). In addition, the parent must sign a release form or accompany the minor during the experience.
The requirements are a healthy constitution, a maximum weight of 120 kg and being able to swim.
The activity is not suitable for pregnant women, people with heart problems or over 70 years of age and people with reduced mobility.
Other information
Activities are possible from mid-May to the first week of October, every day.
A changing room and a locker for storing personal belongings are available at the diving centre (there are no showers or toilets).
For those who wish to do so, it is possible at the diving centre to transcribe your experience on the NADD website to receive a PDF diploma of your sea baptism within a few days and by e-mail.
It is not recommended to dive 12 hours before a flight.
It is possible to reach Riomaggiore by train, while parking spaces on site are limited.
