You don't have to go to Lapland to drive a husky sled: in Madonna di Campiglio you can really do it.
With the "Sleddog Baptism" you will become a musher for a day, getting to know the dogs and letting yourself be carried away - literally - by their energy. 1½ hours between theory and practice, where you will discover how to communicate with your Alaskan husky pack and independently lead a sled pulled by 3 or 4 of them.
An authentic, exciting and. .. definitely out of the ordinary experience.
What we will do
The appointment is in Madonna di Campiglio, where our adventure in the world of dog sledding will begin. We will be welcomed by the musher guide, together with the real protagonists of the day: a pack of Alaskan huskies.
We will begin with a moment of acquaintance with the dogs, to familiarise ourselves with them and understand the bond of trust that unites the musher to his team. This will be followed by a technical briefing in which the instructor will teach us the rudiments of sled driving: how to maintain balance, manage speed and interpret commands.
When everything is ready, the most eagerly awaited moment will come: the practical test! Each participant, under the supervision of the instructor, will personally lead their own sledge pulled by 3-4 dogs, gliding through the snowy landscapes of the Piana di Nambino, immersed in the silence and magic of winter.
Children from 6 to 10 years of age can participate together with the instructor (both on the same sled) , while from 11 years of age onwards they can drive independently, always followed at a distance by the musher. At the end of the experience, we can cuddle the huskies and take a few photos with them as a souvenir of this wonderful day.
Between the welcome, briefing and driving test, the activity will last about 1 hour and 30 minutes.
Who it is aimed at
The activity is suitable for everyone from 6 years old and up. A maximum of 1 person rides on the sledge at a time.
The experience is not accessible to people with motor disabilities, as it involves driving the sledge independently. In the case of other disabilities (visual, hearing. .. ), it is advisable to contact the organiser to confirm feasibility (you will receive contact by e-mail with your booking confirmation) .
The activity is not recommended for those suffering from back problems or pregnant women.
Other information
The experience takes place from January to April. The times on the calendar are indicative: a few days before the activity, after checking the weather conditions, the guide will inform you of the exact meeting time and address.
Dogs or other animals are not allowed during the activity.
The meeting point cannot be reached by public transport; there is a car park on site.

What happens in case of bad weather?
If you have made a fixed date reservation and the weather conditions are not suitable for carrying out the activity safely (according to the expert opinion of the guide), you will be refunded the full amount paid. The guide may suggest an alternative date or time for the activity. You are free to choose whether or not to accept these suggestions. If you are unable to reschedule, we will proceed with a full refund! If you have set the date of your Gift Voucher and bad weather has prevented the activity from taking place, the Voucher remains valid until the expiry date indicated on it.
If I cancel the reservation, can I get a full refund?
For this activity, the cancellation policy is flexible. You get a full refund if you cancel within 5 days from the activity start date. Within 4 and 3 days from the activity start date you will get a 50% refund. You can find the full policies in the Cancellation Policy section.
