Full description
You’re already familiar with aperitifs at the bar. But an aperitif on a snowmobile? Probably not.
In Foppolo, in the Orobie Alps, you put on your helmet, start up the snowmobile and follow the guide up to 2, 200 metres, through snow-covered woods and bends that glow orange at sunset.
And when you sit down in the mountain refuge, your heart still pounding, you realise that this is the aperitif that makes the whole journey worthwhile.
What we will do
We’ll meet up 30 minutes before departure in Foppolo, in the province of Bergamo. There, we’ll meet the guide, who’ll provide us with helmets and explain how to ride the snowmobile.
After a brief briefing, we’ll be ready to set off. We’ll hop on and set off along the route that will take us up to an altitude of 2, 200 metres, passing through the spectacular scenery of the Orobie Alps. Along the way, we’ll stop at several points to take photos and enjoy the unique atmosphere of the snow-capped mountains.
Once we reach the summit, the most evocative moment awaits us: the sunset setting the peaks ablaze with red and gold, a spectacle that alone makes the whole adventure worthwhile.
From there, we’ll head to a cosy mountain refuge at 2, 000 metres, where an aperitif and light supper (included) await us: a drink of your choice accompanied by platters of cold cuts, cheeses and other local delicacies.
Re-energised and after a few toasts, we’ll hop back on the snowmobiles to return to the starting point. The experience lasts a total of around 2 hours, including the stop at the mountain hut.
