Full description
Sportsmen on report, this experience is for you.
Together with an environmental hiking guide , you will venture into the Abruzzo winter landscape, starting from the source of the Aventino river for a sporty snowshoe hike. You will then reach an altitude of 1,300 metres, learning progression and breathing techniques.
A four and a half hour experience, for those who don't forget sport on holiday.
What we will do
I will be waiting for you 20 minutes before the selected time at the meeting point in Palena (CH), near the source of the Aventino river. I, your environmental hiking guide, will be there to welcome you!
Once all participants have gathered, I will proceed with checking individualequipment and handing over theequipment. This will be followed by a briefing, during which I will give you more information about what we will be doing, where we will be going and what techniques we will be applying. In fact, this is a sports snowshoe hike: during the hike, I will show you the progression techniques and give you tips on breathing.
Wearing snowshoes, we will venture into the Riserva Naturale Orientata Quarto Santa Chiara (Quarto Santa Chiara Oriented Nature Reserve): we will enter a mixed forest , surrounded mainly by beech trees, following a path on the side of the mountain with an altitude difference of +400 metres. We will then reach theCelestinian Hermitage of the Madonna dell'Altare, located at an altitude of 1,300 metres: once on site, I will tell you the story of this medieval monument as seen from the outside and we will recharge our batteries for a break.
We will then return to the meeting point along the same route. The snowshoe hike will last 4 hours; the experience will last 4 ½ hours in total.
