02 Mar 2022 | Snowshoeing in Val Ferret in Courmayeur

Beautiful panoramic walk at Lake Arpy!

Actually, on the guide's advice, we opted for a more scenic walk than the Val Ferret tour and started from Monte San Carlo to the frozen lake of Arpy. The first part took place in the woods and our super-guide Pierpaolo told us many anecdotes and curiosities about nature and the woods that greatly enriched a simple walk in the snow. The second part took place on the cross-country with a breathtaking view of Mont Blanc. The day was beautiful and despite the scarce snowfall this year, the landscape was really beautiful! We were a large group and not all sporty, so we were a bit apprehensive about the level of the hike, which actually turned out to be easy and not too challenging, as much as the guide had told us. It gave us the chance to enjoy the mountains outdoors for a while and still have the energy to enjoy the afternoon and soiree in Courmayeur. At the end of the route, at the La Genzianella hotel, we had delicious typical polenta in all sauces and mouth-watering home-made desserts. Modest cost. Special thanks to our guide Pierpaolo for making this excursion so interesting and enjoyable at the same time!

20 Jan 2024 | High-altitude snowshoeing in Prato Nevoso with lunch

Beautiful experience

It was my girlfriend and I's first time snowshoeing and it was a great way to start. Once the booking was made and the payment settled, an email arrived with the guide's details, his phone contact and the address of the meeting place. Giorgia was very helpful in giving us directions on what to wear and bring. The snowshoe hike (snowshoes and poles included) started at 10:00 a.m. and after an hour or so of very light 'ascent' we arrived at the cable car (included) that leads to the summit of Prato Nevoso. Then once there at the summit, we did a little more snowshoeing and then went to eat at the 'La Rossa' refuge and the polenta was delicious. Then we set off again to descend first by cable car and then by snowshoeing. At 3pm, we were back at the starting point. The day was pleasant and the weather was good. I would do it again.

26 Jan 2023 | High-altitude snowshoeing on the Paganella in Andalo

An experience to be absolutely repeated. The guide is very knowledgeable and told us many interesting facts about the local fauna and flora. Slightly tiring (if you're not very fit) because the whole first half is uphill, but really doable for everyone (for me, it was the first snowshoe hike ever), and it's really worth it because the view from the Paganella is worth that little extra effort. Apart from that, very reasonable price. Ski lifts excluded (at least from the price I paid). There are malghe (shepherd's huts) in the area where they cook divinely. I'm only sorry to have written the review after almost a year, but I hope you'll forgive me... enjoy!

19 Jan 2023 | Sunset snowshoeing in Andalo

Recommended experience

Our guide Davide decided at the last minute not to go up the mountain because of the wind and fog that would have prevented us from seeing the wonderful panorama of Andalo. However, he took us on a beautiful route through the woods around the village. Along the way, he gave us interesting explanations on the morphology of the area and how to tackle the trails safely. The only criticism I can make is the failure to provide us with snowshoes, which would have been a nice help during the long walk. And also the closed refuge on Tuesday where we were supposed to have an aperitif, patience. But it was a wonderful experience that I recommend to everyone.

Sensational!

We went snowshoeing. Pierpaolo made sure to contact us the day before to remind us of the time and the meeting point. We called him because we were having trouble finding a taxi to get to the point and he was really incredible: he was passing by our hotel and he picked us up. Snowshoeing is something unique, indescribable. It makes you become one with nature, the birds and the sky. During the stops along the way, Pierpaolo indulged in short, pleasant reflections on nature and anthropology, and also on fondue production 😋 Once up there...well, the view leaves you speechless. Pierpaolo is excellence and the place... you have to visit it!

Great experience!

It was our first snowshoe hike and we were really enthusiastic.nWe set off from Andalo and once we got on the cable car, we put on our snowshoes and set off. Honestly, we thought we would have done less climbing, but since we were a group of resins with a 'good pace', the guide suggested we lengthen the tour and we ended up at the La Roda refuge! At the refuge, we rested (excellent crepes) and then descended by chairlift. It was just a shame that we didn't enjoy the view because of the cloudy sky.nOverall a very good experience.nReally good guide!
