Full description
Discover the magical places ofAlto Molise with snowshoes on your feet: explore the silver fir woods of Pescopennataro or reach Monte Campo, at an altitude of 1746 metres, depending on the route chosen for the excursion.
During the 3-hour snowshoe hike, you will advance through the snow in the company of a certified hiking guide and can relax at the end of the route while sipping some good mulled wine.
If you love snow and scenic walks, this is the winter activity for you!
What we will do
We will start our adventure in Capracotta or Pescopennataro, in the province of Isernia. The starting point will be chosen according to the snowpack conditions and communicated by the guide the day before the activity.
The backdrop for our snowshoe hi ke will beAlto Molise, a place rich in traditions and excellent flavours, breathtaking landscapes, large forests and panoramic views to take your breath away. The route will be about 5.5 km long, with an expected altitude difference of 250 m.
If we start from Pescopennataro , we will be able to explore the typical white fir forests of this area. If, on the other hand, we take the route from Capracotta, we will be able to reach Monte Campo, which, at 1746 metres, is the symbolic peak of Alto Molise, from which, on clear days, it is possible to look as far as the Tremiti Islands.
To refresh ourselves after the advance in the fresh snow, we will sip a warm mulled wine and enjoy a well-deserved break to absorb the magic of these places.
The activity, including dressing, arrival and stops, will last 3 hours in total.
Who it is aimed at
The activity is aimed at everyone from the age of 7. A minimum of experience of walking in nature is required.
Children aged 15 and over can also participate on their own, provided they have a signed parental release.
Other information
The activity is available on weekends, from December to March, and is confirmed with a minimum of 6 people.
The itinerary may vary according to weather and snow conditions at the organiser's discretion. The meeting point may be Capracotta or Pescopennataro and will be confirmed by the guide a day in advance depending on snow conditions.
For already formed groups of at least 6 persons, midweek outings can also be organised, subject to the guide's availability.
Four-legged friends are welcome, provided they are kept on a leash.
