Full description
The Reggio Emilia Apennines as you've never seen them before. .. completely whitewashed!
Join a 3-hour snowshoe hike to Passo di Pradarena, on the border between Emilia and Tuscany: in the company of an Alpine Guide, you will experience a fun and panoramic adventure, suitable for everyone.
On a clear day, you will be able to catch a glimpse of the Apuane peaks and the Alps in the distance: start sharpening your eyes!
What we will do
The appointment is at 9. 30 a. m. at the meeting point in Ventasso (RE), Ligonchio. Here we will find the Alpine Guide, who will welcome us.
After compacting the cars, we will make a short 10-15 minute transfer to the Pradarena Pass, at an altitude of approximately 1, 500 metres. The guide will be able to take some participants with his own vehicle.
At the pass we will receive snowshoes and poles (included) and participate in an initial briefing, with practical advice on how to use the equipment and directions on the route. Then we can start our snowshoe hike in the Apennines of Reggio Emilia!
Depending on snow conditions, we will ascend either towards Monte Cavalbianco or in the direction of Monte Sillano: both options involve about 300 metres of elevation gain and an estimated length of 3 km. We will first walk through the woods, then after about half an hour we will come out onto a wide, panoramic ridge.
With each step we will see the horizon change: on clear days it will be possible to see the Apuan Alps , and even the sea and the Alps in the distance! Once we have completed the loop, we will return to the pass and return to the meeting point.
The experience will last about 3 hours, including 2½ hours of actual snowshoeing.
Who it is aimed at
The experience is suitable for ages 8 and up. Minors may also participate on their own, provided they have a signed release form.
The activity is of an easy level and perfect for a first snowshoeing trip.
Other information
The experience is available from December to the beginning of March and is confirmed upon reaching a minimum number of 5 participants.
The location may vary slightly according to snow or weather conditions, at the guide's discretion.
