Full description

Who says you need a ski pass to enjoy the snow?

Put on your snowshoes and come discover the side of the Aremogna that skiers will never see! In the company of an environmental hiking guide, you will immerse yourself for 2 hours in the silence of the beech forest around Roccaraso and in the open spaces of the plateau.

And yes, you might even spot the tracks of a Marsican bear in the snow!

What we will do

The meeting point is 20 minutes before the selected time at the meeting point in Roccaraso (AQ) .

We will be welcomed by the environmental excursion guide, who will hand us snowshoes and poles (included in the fee) and give us a short introductory briefing on the use of the equipment and the route.

Once we are ready, we will leave the ski lifts behind and head into the heart of the Aremogna Plateau, at an altitude of around 1, 400 metres. Our route will wind through unspoilt natural scenery, crossing the valley that marks the border between the territories of Roccaraso and Rivisondoli.

We will snowshoe inside a beautiful beech forest, where the pace will be dictated only by our steps on fresh snow. The guide will accompany us to discover the secrets of the mountains: we will learn to recognise the tracks of wild animals, with a special focus on the Marsican brown bear.

We will enjoy open views of the mountains, breathing in the pure air of one of the coldest and most fascinating areas of Abruzzo. Finally, we will return to the meeting point; the route measures 3 km with an altitude difference of 120 metres. The experience will last a total of 2 hours.
