Snow turns an ordinary experience... into an extraordinary one!
If you agree, try this unmissable snowshoe hike on Mount Terminillo! You will explore the eastern side of the mountain following a 4 km route and reaching analtitude of 1,900 metres.
The snowy landscapes you will see will enchant you!
What we will do
We will meet at the meeting point in Micigliano (RI), where our environmental excursion guides will be waiting for us. They will lead us to the starting point of the hike within a few minutes. Before setting off, they will hand us thenecessary equipment (snowshoes and poles) and hold a briefing of about 20 minutes to teach us how to snowshoe correctly and explain the itinerary.
Then we will start the hike on the Sella di Leonessa, moving along a route of about 4 km, with a maximum altitude difference of 180 m, and reaching analtitude of 1,900 metres. Around us, we will be able to admire the beautiful snowy panorama on the slopes of Mount Terminillo.
We will explore the eastern slope of the mountain until we reach the Selletta delle Scangive, which overlooks the centuries-old beech trees of the Bosco della Meta and the Bosco della Vallonina. This point will mark the halfway point of our walk and we will stop there for about 30 minutes to rest and listen to the guide's explanations on the area's mountaineering history.
Finally, we will resume snowshoeing and return to our starting point, stopping for a few more minutes to appreciate and photograph the most beautiful landscapes.
The activity will last a total of 3 hours, 2 of which will be spent snowshoeing.
Who it is aimed at
The activity is suitable from the age of 10. Children under the age of 16 may only participate if accompanied, while those over 16 may participate alone, subject to signing a release form by a responsible adult.
Other information
The activity is available from December to March, on Sundays and Wednesdays, and will be confirmed upon reaching a minimum of 4 participants.
Please note! The itinerary may vary depending on weather conditions and at the discretion of the guides.
Leashed dogs are allowed.
The meeting point cannot be reached by public transport, while free parking spaces are available on site.
