How many times have you turned on the TV and seen one of Bud Spencer and Terence Hill's memorable westerns ? Did you know that they were not filmed in America but almost always here in Italy?
With this half-day snowshoe hike you can discover some of the views that were the sets of those films, but above all immerse yourself in the splendid winter nature of Abruzzo, in the heart of the Gran Sasso National Park.
Come and discover the history of these lands, admire the majestic nature that surrounds you, and savour the delights of the local cuisine in cosy refuges along the way. We are waiting for you!
What we will do
We will meet with the EAGAE guide at 9.30 a.m. in Castel del Monte (AQ) to get to know each other and hand out snowshoes and poles (included). Before setting off, we will spend a few minutes for a short briefing to learn how to use the equipment correctly and be able to snowshoe safely.
To immerse ourselves immediately in this experience in the snow, we will learn a little about the history of the park that hosts us on a journey that will test our bodies but also our minds through stories of people, food, and nature.
The itinerary is about 5 km, with a maximum altitude difference of 80 m, and will take us to the'Little Tibet' of Campo Imperatore. All around us we will be able to admire the snow-capped peaks of the Gran Sasso and Corno Grande as we walk along the park's paths lined with snow-covered beech and fir trees.
Along the way, we may also stop at a few open shelters to warm up and refresh ourselves, before resuming the route. We will return to our starting point at Castel del Monte after about three and a half hours of hiking.
Who it is aimed at
The activity is at an easy level and suitable for everyone from 6 years old. Minors must be accompanied by an adult.
Other information
The excursion is bookable from December to March, and is confirmed on reaching a minimum of 5 participants.
Dogs can participate, but a leash is required.
The meeting point is not easily accessible by public transport.

What happens in case of bad weather?
If you have made a fixed date reservation and the weather conditions are not suitable for carrying out the activity safely (according to the expert opinion of the guide), you will be refunded the full amount paid. The guide may suggest an alternative date or time for the activity. You are free to choose whether or not to accept these suggestions. If you are unable to reschedule, we will proceed with a full refund! If you have set the date of your Gift Voucher and bad weather has prevented the activity from taking place, the Voucher remains valid until the expiry date indicated on it.
If I cancel the reservation, can I get a full refund?
