Explore the Majella National Park... on snowshoes!
Set off from Pescocostanzo and cross the finish line at an altitude of 1,380 metres: you will venture into the snowy Abruzzo landscape, snowshoeing in the splendid natural setting of the Sant'Antonio forest, in the company of an alpine guide.
An experience of more than 2 hours discovering the territory, its flora and fauna!
What we will do
The appointment is 15 minutes before the selected time at the meeting point in Pescocostanzo (AQ). Awaiting us will be the mountain guide who will accompany us on this adventure in the snow!
Having gathered all the participants and handed over theequipment, a briefing will take place to explain how to walk with snowshoes and provide all the useful information for a carefree experience.
And here we are ready for our snowshoe hike in the Majella National Park. There will be several short stops along the way: we will enter a forest to discover the local fauna and flora; we will reach theHermitage of St. Anthony and learn more about the history of the Saint, taking advantage of a snack break.
We will finally cross the finish line at the Macchiaduni Refuge, at an altitude of 1,380 metres: from up here we will enjoy a unique panoramic view, which will form the backdrop to our group photo! We will then start our descent and make one last stop to participate in a lesson on mountain safety.
After covering approximately 4 km with an altitude difference of 150 metres, we will finally return to the meeting point. The experience will last a total of 2 ½ hours.
Who it is aimed at
The experience is suitable for ages 8 and up; children under 18 must be accompanied by an adult.
The route does not include any sections that might disturb those suffering from vertigo.
The experience is of an easy level and suitable for a first snowshoeing trip.

Attention! There is no telephone line at the venue.
The experience takes place from December to March and is confirmed once the minimum number of 5 participants has been reached.
Thevenue and itinerary may vary depending on weather conditions at the mountain guide's discretion.
Generally, there will be 1 mountain guide for every 10 participants.
Dogs are not allowed.
There is free parking on site. The meeting point cannot be reached by public transport.
