Full description
Treat yourself to one of the most evocativesnowshoe hikes in the Maiella. Your guide will accompany you along a circular route of medium difficulty, which crosses the Passolanciano forest for 6 km.
You will be surrounded by unspoilt nature and will be able to stop and admire the ancient stone huts that served as shelters for shepherds and farmers. Everything will be made even more magical by the colours of sunset, with the sun disappearing behind the Gran Sasso mountain range.
What we will do
We will meet 10 minutes before the indicated time in Passolanciano (PE), where the guide will be waiting for us to accompany us into the heart of the Maiella.
After handing out snowshoes and poles, the guide will take the path that winds through the Passolanciano forest with us. This is not just a simple mountain path lined with beautiful trees, but a real walk through the history of these places. In fact, we will stop to admire the ancient agro-pastoral complexes consisting of huts built using the dry stone system.
Our 6-km-long circular route, with an altitude difference of 250 metres, will allow us to discover a wonderful snowy landscape made even more beautiful by the sunset. Towards the end of the hike, we will be able to admire the sun disappearing behind the Morone and Sirente mountain massifs, giving us a breathtaking view.
The duration of the snowshoe hike is approximately 3 hours, at the end of which we can stop at theHotel Ti' Bionda Suisse to enjoy a polentata in company (optional and not included in the fee).
Who it is aimed at
The hike is of medium difficulty and is intended for adults and children aged 11 and over. Minors must be accompanied
Some walking ability is required.

The snowshoe hike is scheduled on scheduled dates and is confirmed with a minimum of 4 participants.
The described itinerary may be subject to change depending on weather conditions and the practicability of the trails.
Dogs are not allowed for safety reasons.
For those who wish, after the activity it is possible to stop for a gastronomic break at theHotel Ti Bionda Suisse. The menu includes polenta with pork ribs, a glass of wine, water and coffee. To stop for polenta, simply inform your guide the day before the snowshoe hike (you will receive his contact details after booking). The polenta has an extra cost of €17 per person to be paid on site (€20 on 1 January).
