Stand Up Paddleboard Mini-Course in Ugento, Salento

Try a new water sport with a 2-day SUP mini-course in Ugento (LE). Together with experienced instructors, you will learn the basic techniques of Stand Up Paddleboarding, make new friends, and discover a fun and exciting activity.

On board your SUP board you will move through turquoise, crystal-clear waters, paddle after paddle, moving away from the shore and the hustle and bustle of the lidos to come into close contact with the wonderful Salento sea.

By the end of the course you may already be able to move around on your SUP independently and venture out on wonderful excursions and coastal tours. All you have to do is grab your paddle!

What we will do

The course takes place on the beach at Fontanelle, in Ugento (LE), in mini-groups of 3 to 5 participants, so that the instructor can follow everyone as closely and thoroughly as possible.

The first day will begin with a short theory lesson to introduce us to the world of Stand Up Paddleboarding. Then we will immediately move on to the practical part with a series of exercises on land, fundamental for learning the right movements for a fluid and efficient paddle and, above all, for getting used to holding a correct position on the board.

Entering the sea, the most difficult part will be to stay balanced. The movement of the waves will tend to make us fall, so at first we will remain on our knees on the board, in order to become familiar with the instability of the water. When we feel confident we will stand up and, following theinstructor's instructions, we will start paddling, refining the movement more and more.

On the second day we will consolidate what we have learnt and devote ourselves to practice with a coastal paddle. The lessons last one and a half hours each and can be held on two consecutive days or with an interval between the two, depending on the organisational needs of the instructors.

Who it is aimed at

This activity is at an easy level and is open to all, aged 6 and up. No previous experience is required but it is advisable to know how to swim (a life jacket will be provided to each participant).

Other information

This activity is bookable from April to September and is confirmed when there are at least 3 participants.

After booking, your chosen date for the first lesson will be confirmed . For the second, you can make arrangements directly with the instructor.

Theequipment is included in the price for the duration of the lesson. If you want to continue practising on the SUP after the lesson, you can rent a board, paddle and life jacket for 15€ per hour.
