Do you like water sports, have you already tried rafting and are you looking for something even more eventful? Hop on a SUP board and test your balance in the rapids of the Lao River.
Stand-up paddling is the most fun way to descend a river. You'll have to deal with theinstability of the board and the force of the current, and you'll also have to be prepared for a few dives into the water!
You'll cover a 4 km stretch where the waters are fairly calm, but there will be no shortage of rapids and adrenaline rushes. Our experienced guides will always be around to ensure maximum safety.
What we will do
We will meet at the rafting centre in Laino Borgo, in the province of Cosenza. After getting acquainted with the guides and handing over theequipment, we will move by shuttle bus to the embarkation point on the Lao river. Before entering the water, we will conduct a briefing on SUP use and safety rules.
The SUP board is accessible to all, requiring no special skills other than good balance. If you have never ridden it, you will struggle to stand upright at first, especially in a rough situation like river waters. This is why you can ride SUP on your knees, a position that increases your stability on the board.
The course is 4 km long and features small rapids and jumps that will make the SUP ride fun and adrenaline-pumping. In total, the activity will last 2 hours, of which about 1 hour in the river. Upon disembarkation, we will find the shuttle bus that will take us back to the base, where we can change and use the equipped area.
Who it is aimed at
This activity is at an intermediate level. To participate, one must have a good aquatic ability, be physically fit and beat least 16 years old.
Other information
This activity is available from April to October, depending on the weather and the river's hydrometric levels, and is confirmed with a minimum of 2 people.
The rafting centre has anarea equipped with a swimming pool, camping site, camper van, barbecue and dog area. After booking, you can contact the centre directly for more information on extra services.
Minors must be accompanied or present anauthorisation signed by their parents.

What happens in case of bad weather?
If you have made a fixed date reservation and the weather conditions are not suitable for the safe conduct of the activity (in the expert opinion of the guide), you will be refunded the full amount paid. The guide may suggest an alternative date or time for you to conduct the activity. You can freely choose whether or not to accept these proposals. If you can’t retrieve it, we will process a full refund! If you have set the date for your Gift Voucher and bad weather did not allow the activity to take place, the Voucher remains regularly valid until the expiration date indicated on it.
If I cancel the reservation, can I get a full refund?
For this activity, the cancellation policy is flexible. You get a full refund if you cancel within 5 days from the activity start date. Within 4 and 3 days from the activity start date you will get a 50% refund. You can find the full policies in the Cancellation Policy section.
