Full description

What if you get lost in the mountains? It can happen. The important thing is to know how to cope!

Come and get lost in this 2-day survival course in the Belluno Dolomites: together with a survival instructor, you will learn how to light a fire, build a shelter to spend the night in and cook with what nature has to offer.

Because sometimes getting lost can also be a way to find yourself!

What we will do

The appointment is 15 minutes before the indicated time at the meeting point in Lorenzago di Cadore (BL), in the Belluno Dolomites. Awaiting us will be our survival guide, who will accompany us for the duration of the course.

After a brief initial introduction, we will drive to the activity area, about 3 km from the village. Having parked the cars, we will begin a loop trek with several stages, during which the guide will introduce us to the area and the basics of survival and orientation.

During the morning we will move on to the more practical part: we will build emergency shelters using only natural materials available according to the season, learning how to assess the best place and priorities in a real situation. We will continue with fire lighting, experimenting with different techniques depending on the level of the participants: from the use of tinder to more advanced methods such as flint, pyrite or bow.

We will also explore topics such as water purification, foraging and hints of meteorology, which are fundamental for reading the environment and making informed decisions. In the afternoon, after a picnic lunch, we will engage in tool-making using bushcraft techniques, archery and an introduction to signalling and mountain first aid.

In the evening we will prepare a trapper-style dinner, with food we have brought. Around the flames there will also be space for moments of tribal creativity, to slow down and experience the mountains with a different outlook. We will spend the night in the shelters built during the course (those who wish can bring a tent) . In the morning, we will have breakfast together around the fire, before dismantling the camp.

We will conclude the experience with a short debriefing and return to the cars. The activity will last a total of 24 hours.

Who it is aimed at

The experience is suitable for ages 6 and up. Children 11 years and older can participate unaccompanied.

The experience is available all year round and is confirmed with a minimum of 2 participants.

The activity also takes place in the event of slight bad weather, at the organiser's discretion.
