Full description
If you are anadventure lover and enjoy being in close contact with nature, this is the activity for you. A basic survival course in the Casentino Forest National Park. A two-day experience to learn all those lost skills and techniques that have accompanied us along our evolutionary path.
Discover the world of survival together with CSEN-certified instructors, who will teach you how to find your way in the woods, build a shelter, light a fire and procure food and water like our ancestors.
A fun activity but also very useful in emergency situations, to be tackled with a true spirit of survival and that will make you find resources, inner and outer, that you didn't even think you had. Try it to believe!
What we will do
We will meet at 9.30 a. m. at the meeting point in Londa (FI). Time to form the group and get acquainted with the instructors, and we will enter the Casentino Forest National Park, at an altitude of 750 m, where the two-day course will take place.
Under the guidance of the instructors, we will carry out various activities, starting withorientation on the map and ending with the construction of a bivouac where we can spend the night at our leisure. We will learn different knot-tying and tying techniques so that what we build can withstand different weather conditions. We will learn how to light a fire with a tinderbox and make primitive tools from stones and wood. For lunch we will have a picnic meal, and for dinner we will roast meat on a freshly lit fire.
One of the most interesting parts of the course will be how to clean water and procure food. We will learn to recognise edible plants and berries and build small traps. We will learn techniques for sending distress signals and assisting a companion in difficulty. Finally, we will be given hints on the psychology of survival, for managing anxiety and stress in emergency situations.
The course will end on the second day at around 17:00. We will return home with a baggage full of new skills learned in the wilderness, in the company of passionate people who will have passed on to us all their survival spirit!
