The bow is one of the oldest and most fascinating instruments in human history. With us, you can make one from scratch.
Join us for a one-day course in ancient arch ery in Lonato del Garda, in the province of Brescia: make a primitive bow with your own hands and try it out in an archery lesson!
Alessandro, an archer specialising in primitive archery, archery instructor and survival expert, will follow you step by step, from the choice of wood to the first shooting notions. At the end of the day, you can even take home the result of your work, your own personal bow!
What we will do
The appointment is at 9.30 a.m. in Lonato del Garda, in the province of Brescia. When you arrive, I will be there to welcome you and, after an introductory briefing, we will walk into the woods, where the course in primitive archery will begin.
In this intensive course, you will get to know and learn the basics ofprimitive archery. With a few simple tools and guided by an experienced archer, you will make a fully functional bow with your own hands.
You will go into the forest in search of the right wood to make your artefact and discover the suitable woods and their characteristics. Using an axe and knife, you will shape your creation and then learn how to temper your bow and make the string.
Finally, you will be shown the technique of making arrows and you will try out your bow in the field in a real archery lesson lasting up to one hour.
The activity ends at 18:00, for a total duration of 8½ hours.
Who it is aimed at
The course is aimed at anyone over the age of 15 who wants to learn ancient archery.
Other information
The activity takes place throughout the year on the dates indicated on the calendar (continuously updated) and is confirmed upon reaching a minimum of 4 participants.
If you do not manage to finish your bow, you can participate free of charge in the next course or a shooting lesson to complete your work under the guidance of the Master Archer.

What happens in case of bad weather?
If you have made a fixed date reservation and the weather conditions are not suitable for the safe conduct of the activity (in the expert opinion of the guide), you will be refunded the full amount paid. The guide may suggest an alternative date or time for you to conduct the activity. You can freely choose whether or not to accept these proposals. If you can’t retrieve it, we will process a full refund! If you have set the date for your Gift Voucher and bad weather did not allow the activity to take place, the Voucher remains regularly valid until the expiration date indicated on it.
If I cancel the reservation, can I get a full refund?
For this activity, the cancellation policy is strict. You get a full refund if you cancel within 15 days from the activity start date. Within 14 and 8 days from the activity start date you will get a 50% refund. You can find the full policies in the Cancellation Policy section.
